Non Timber Resource Management

We strive to integrate responsible harvesting operations into forest management practices with the desired management goal of reaching maximum biodiversity.  We are able to do this in a manner which provides not only ecological and cultural benefits but also provides a basis for sustainable economic development.

We utilize the salvage materials on the Makah rainforests to make many of our finished products which eliminates wastes of natural resources and provides economic benefits without additional burdens on the forests.  Creating a quality of sustainable economic development that meets social and cultural needs of those who depend upon the forest for providing for their families are our priority.

Of special concern and focus are the responsible utilizations of private and trust allotment land owners who have historically been denied economic opportunity from their lands.  These lands have often been neglected from commercial timber forest management.  Integrated Resource Management that includes a priority for non timber resources provides the forest health needed for biodiversity and ethno botanical utilizations as well as economic opportunity for the land owners and managers.

We can help you develop a plan that meets your land management needs in a manner that is cost effective.  Properly managed the catastrophic fire conditions that exist on much timber lands from single use management practices can be reduced.

We do stewardship agreements in which we provide project work and other services.   We are continually developing training and cooperative agreements to assist in economic development and worker retraining.
