QVSC Well Represented At Westerns
Qu'Appelle Valley Ski Club placed four members on the team representing Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Juvenile
Alpine Ski Championships
held at Marmot Basin near Jasper, Alberta. Kara Delaney, Rhiannon
Jones, Allysen Reed, and
Darsey Godwin represented our club in the
SuperG, Giant Slalom and Slalom races. Although the athletes did not get
the best of results, each had a positive experience, and by all accounts were
great ambassadors of our club. Allysen's best result came in SuperG
competition placing 9th. SuperG is where Darsey also had his best finish,
a 19th. Rhiannon and Kara each had their best day in GS competition
placing 17th and 23rd respectively. It should be noted that Kara was one
of the only K1 (11-12 years old) athletes participating at this event.
QVSC thanks Sheridon Godwin for taking the time to go along as a chaperone and
helping coach our athletes. Sheridon says that everyone had a very
positive experience.
