Adding Outer Boarder
Please contact me at [email protected] if this part confuses you (mitered corners or preparing for applique) 1. Join the tan print boarders to the quilt using mitered corners. Press seam allowances tws boarders; then stitch corner seams. 2. Prepare bias strips, so they are 3/8" wide 3. Fuse hearts to baskets. Center a basket over each mitered corner. Tuck ends of 2 bias strips under the top edge of each basket. Fuse baskets in place. 4. Referring to picture, baste vines in gentle curves along sides of quilt/. Pin tulips and tulip tips at ends of vines at center of each quilt side, spacing tulips approx. 1 " apart. (Trim ends of vines if necessary.) Fuse tulips and tulip tips in place. 5. Fuse 5 leaves, 4 cherries, 1 bird and wing, and 1 star flower and flower center along each vine as shown. Birds should face toward center of quilt sides. 6. Buttonhole-stitch around each applique piece by hand or by machine |
