1) Adaptation- A characteristic that helps an organism survive in its environment or reproduce
2) Competition- Active demand of two or more organisms or kinds of organisms for some environmental resource in short supply.

3) Diversity- variety
4) Evolve (Evolution)- The gradual change in a species over time.
5) Inferred (Infer)- To derive as a conclusion from facts and premises.

6) Natural Selection- The process by which individuals are better adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce than othe members of the same species.
7) Overproduction- Too many offspring for a given amount of resources.
8) Species- A group of similar organisms that can mate with each other and produce fertile offspring.
9) Traits- A characteristic that an organism can pass on to its offspring through its genes.
10) Variations- Any difference between individuals of the same species.
