| Frankie Carroll | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Born: Glasgow, 30th January 1981 Signed: from Knightswood Juveniles, July 2003 Height: 5ft 8in Mass: 11st 7lb Debut: vs. Cowdenbeath, 21/08/99 QP League Career Apps. Goals 1999/2000 21 ( 6 ) 8 2000/01 13 ( 15 ) 2 Frankie is, of course, the hero of 2000; the man who came off the bench and scored the two goals that completed Queen's Park fightback at Cowdenbeath to win the championship. His first season was euphoric, scoring eight goals including those two, after arriving from Benburb. Partick Thistle expressed an interest in him during the summer prior to the Second Division campaign, but Frankie stayed at Queen's. In those first four glorious games, Frankie scored twice, both of them winners, but thereafter his fall from grace mirrored that of Queen's themselves; the team's form stuttered and Frankie did not score again that season. On his release he appeared a bloated shadow of his former self and since then it's been silence from him on the football front. His signing represents a gamble by the coach as the player attempts to rebuild his career at senior level, but pre-season showings suggest he has regained some of his old sharpness. |

| Allan Dunning Born: Glasgow, 2nd September 1980 Signed: from Eaglesham Amateurs, November 2001 Height: 6ft 1in Mass: 12st Debut: vs. Peterhead ( as substitute ), 24/11/01 QP League Career Apps Goals 2001/02 7 ( 4 ) 2 Tall and tricky, with a fine turn of pace, Allan has so far shown only fleeting promise with Queen's Park. Injuries have been the bane of his time at the club so far, in his case as in so many others. Now, it seems his attitude has been questioned by new coach Kenny Brannigan, and it would appear he will have to work hard to force himself back into the reckoning again. |

| Stephen McAuley | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Born: Bellshill, 16th February 1983 Signed: from Airdrie United, July 2003 Height: 5ft 10in Mass: 12st 3lb Debut: vs. St. Mirren ( as substitute ), Challenge Cup, 02/08/03 Not surprisingly, Kenny Brannigan returned to one of his former haunts to snap up an addition to the forward line: young Steve McAuley. Steve started out at Clyde before becoming part of the first-ever squad of Airdrie United F.C. He appeared just twice last season, both times as a substitute. Playing at Queen's Park could well represent his first serious stab at first-team football and there seems to be a strong chance of regular involvement for him, given the club's infamous scoring difficulties. |
