Once again, everyone, with the exception of Junior and Anh gathered at our house. I just watched as Chace, Fi, and Mitsue stared at my ears. I didn�t mind at first, but when the staring didn�t stop, I grew a little irritated. �They�re just ears!� I shouted at them. But the staring just wouldn�t stop. Mitsue finally got up and said something.

�Can I touch them?� he asked. He seemed pretty eager so I let him have a little feel. I watched as he slowly examined them. �So, these are your real ears then?� he asked me.

�Yeah, and for some reason they won�t hide anymore,� I said, looking up at them.

�Heh,� said Chace.

�May I ask what�s so funny?� I asked him with a vain popping out of my head. He smirked,

�Nothing, I just think that they�re pretty cute.� After that comment said, I felt a strong blush on my face that didn�t go away for a while. I went over to feel his head.

�Um, what are you doing?� He asked me with confusion written all over his face and a huge sweat-drop.

�You must be running a fever. You just said something nice to me,� I said, concluding that he wasn�t warm at all. I stepped away from him, feeling the blush still on my face. Then I heard a voice,

�Boy, do I see some major blushing here ^_^� I turned around to see who it was,

�Arinu?!� I asked. � What are you doing here on Earth?�

�You say it as if I came alone. I�ve come with the two lovebirds!� she said. She was a twelve-year-old super genius.

�Huh?� we all asked.

�Junior and Anh of course! If you ask me, I�d say it was love at first sight. Those two are like opposite magnets that attract. Geez, too bad for them though. Even if they�re relationship does last, Junior is not allowed to get married. It�s forbidden for the Junior master,� said Arinu, laying out all of the facts.

�Wow, I didn�t they were that way,� said Keiko. Anh and Junior finally appeared. Junior started to speak,

�Listen, we have a big favor to ask of you�� he trailed off.

�We�re listening,� said Fi. Junior continued.

�Well, you know how the Lantern World is having a war-�

�*sob* Milli, you just have to get him back! *sob*� Arinu exclaimed, clutching on to me.

�Get who back?� I asked, a little worried.

�Tsugohuki! Magenta Lantern kidnapped him and is keeping him hostage until we give up the tablets that we have collected! You�re the only one strong enough to defeat her! Defend your title as the strongest witch in the Lantern World, Milli!� Arinu said, bursting out in tears. I gave her a gentle hug,

�I�ll do my best. Of course, I don�t know about defending my title,� I said, hoping no one would think anything of it.

�What do you mean?� Linali asked in a concerned voice.

�Oh, nothing. Um, I�ve just been feeling tired lately, that�s all,� I said, acting as if nothing was wrong. � So what�s the deal with these tablets?� I asked changing the subject. Junior began to explain,

�There�s a total of seventeen. They�re spread out in the Lantern World. They symbolize the original Lanterns: Black, Gold, Silver, Red, Brown, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Yellow, White, Grey, Teal, Sky, Magenta, and Pink. If all of the tablets get into wrong hands, then the Lantern World will become unbalanced. Maybe even possibly, the war would get to out of hand and never stop until the Lantern World is finally destroyed.�

�Well, now that�s not a good,� said Chace, �But what are we supposed to do about it?�

�I can answer that,� said Arinu. � We currently have the Gold, Silver and Sky tablets. We must go out to the Lantern World and recover the remaining tablets. Now Magenta currently has Grey, Purple, and White. We have find those tablets before her or else! We still must take her tablets in order to end this crazy war. Which means we�ll have to fight, and the rest of you will have to become Lanterns soon.�

�So, we have to go home in other words?!� Keiko said with excited in her voice.

�Do you mean home as in the Lantern World?� Mitsue asked.

�Well, yes of course,� Anh answered.

�Well, you can all go, but exclude me and Fi,� said Chace.

�Huh?� I asked.

�I�m sorry, but without someone to watch Tommy, we�ll have to stay,� He replied.

�What about your parents?� I asked him. Chace�s head went down and his face frowned. Did I say something wrong? I just asked him about his parents. I finally got an answer from Fi,

�Our father and mother died in that war a couple years ago. They were called from the king themselves to go out and help their former home. They said that they couldn�t turn the offer down and that it was such an honor. They trusted us to watch Tommy and left. That was the last we heard of them��

�A few days later, a messenger came to inform us that they were killed in battle. We still haven�t found our parents� murderer,� Chace finished. I felt guilty now.

�I�m sorry to bring back such painful memories. I didn�t know. I-�

�It�s ok, you didn�t know,� said Chace. �Excuse me for a moment. I need some time alone.� Chace whistled for carpet and went out of the window. I watched sadly as Chace went with pain in his heart at the moment. I felt a hand on my shoulder.

�He�ll be okay. He just went to go visit them,� Fi said with a smile on his face. �Well, since he took carpet, I guess I�ll have to use my broom to pick up Tommy from school.�

�I�ll go,� I said to Fi. I whistled for my broom. �But, if it�s alright, I would like to talk to Chace first,� I said to Fi. He nodded and I went out of the window on my broom. I zoomed over the city to look for Chace. Then I saw him. I may not have been too bright about Earth, but I did know a cemetery when I saw one.

Chace�s point of view

I looked down at my parent�s tombstone. It had both my mom and my dad�s picture on it.

�I�ve missed you both so much. I just wish you were here right now to help me make the right decision. Fi and I already lied to everyone including Mitsue about not knowing of the Lantern World. Now they all know what�s going on. One day, Mother and Father, I will avenge you,� I said to them quietly.

�Hey, Chace, so this is where you went off to,� said a voice right behind me. It turned out to be Milli with a caring smile on her face. � You know, you could have at least told me where you were going so I didn�t have to search the whole place.�

�I�m sorry, but I needed to see them again,� I said, pointing at my parents. Milli took a look, then I saw her eyes light up, with warmth in them,

�Wow, your mother was so beautiful,� she said. � But I thought you didn�t even know about the Lantern World, Chace. I�m now getting confused.� I frowned,

�I tried to forget about it. I still can�t see why they couldn�t just stay behind and decline the request. I know it was from the king himself, but�� I trailed off as I felt a tear forming. I bowed my head and sat down.

�Oh, Chace it�s okay. It wasn�t your fault. I may not know what it feels like to lose a loved one, but you just have to move on. In time you�ll see them again. Once I meet them soon I�ll ask them all about you, Fi, and Tommy,� said Milli. Her last sentence shocked me for a moment.

�What did you mean by �see them soon�?� I asked.

Back to Milli�s point of view�

I gasped. How could I let that slip out of my mouth . I thought for an excuse, but there was none. I felt my eyes starting to get watery, until I heard a big blast. �What was that?!�

�What was what?� Chace asked. I had forgotten that my ears could hear better than his.

�I heard a blast! And�� I listened carefully then heard a *Help somebody!* �Oh no! Tommy!� Chace automatically whispered for carpet.

�Get on,� he said. I jumped on and we headed straight for Tommy�s school. We saw another giant plant of Tzu-Chi�s, only it could walk and talk.

�Chace it�s time!� I said. He nodded,

�Let�s do it!� We clutched onto our jewels and started to recite the spell together,

�Of all the Sacred Shrines, we call upon the Shrine of Power. Grant us one wish, to be a Legendary Lantern. Grant us the Strength we need to fulfill this task!� We then transformed into Lanterns once more.

�Your evil task is now over!� I shouted, pointing at the plant. I put my hands up, getting ready to attck.

�Nuh uh, not so fast, heh heh heh,� said the plant, holding Tommy in his hand.

�Tommy!� I heard Chace shout. � Let him go now!� He demanded.

�I think I�ll keep him,� said the voice of Tzu-Chi, who suddenly appeared. �He�ll be nice to add to my collection. I think I�ll set him right next to that Tsugohuki fellow hahaha.� -So it�s true then- I said to myself �Then it looks like I have no choice-

�Tzu-Chi, return that boy or you and your plant are in peril!� I shouted.

�Heh, I would like to see you try, Purple Lantern. All you have to do is hand over the tablets that you have and I will let the boy go free, along with Tsugohuki. Don�t bother attacking. You are far too weak and we both know it,� said Tzu-Chi.

�I am weak, this is true, but I will make you pay!� I said clutching my hands together, reciting the spell, �I call upon you shrines of Life, Storm, and fire. Give me the powerful force to vanquish these evildoers! ~Dragon Flare Twister!~� I fired me attack straight at the plant. It was a dragon of flames that made a tornado with its body. I hit the plant directly. � It�s over Tzu-Chi!�

�Mwahaha! I�m afraid it�s just begun, Purple Lantern,� said Tzu-Chi with her face full of confidence. Just then, little bulbs shot out of the dead plant and started to bloom. About 70 mini plants came towards us. �~Blade of Light!~ � Chace shouted, firing his attack. I fell down on my knees, unable to attack. Chace knelt down next to me,

�Milli, what�s wrong?� He asked. I breathed heavily then said,

�I used up all my energy, I�m too weak to battle. I�m going to have to leave them to you, Chace.� Chace fought as much as he could, but there were too many and finally started to lose his agility. The plants struck him a few times until he finally fell down to the ground. �Chace!� I shouted. �~Purple Bubble Beam!~� I finally used up all of my energy and felt myself blackout.

Chace�s point of view again�

Once I saw Milli faint, I knew she used her strength to protect me. I ran as quickly as I could over to her and lifter her head to check if she was still breathing. Thankfully she was resting, but not for long. She finally pulled herself together and lifted her eyes open. � It�s okay, Milli, don�t move. Thanks,� I said.

�Heh, it�s nothing, you would have done the same for me,� she said with a weak smile. �I�m sorry, Chace,� she said in tears, �It�s my fault that Tommy was captured. I should have picked him up from school first.� I put my hand over Milli�s soft lips,

�Shhh, It�s not your fault, Milli.�

�Aww, having a touching moment over there?� said Tzu-Chi. � I would like to stay, and watch you two be destroyed, but I have a little something to put on my shelf,� she said, looking at Tommy. �I�ll leave this note for your friends after you die. Hand over the tablets and the two boys may live.� Tzu-Chi then vanished, leaving her plants behind.

�I�m sorry, Milli, but I don�t think I will be able to destroy all these plants,� I said. Milli�s eyes were now closed but she was still alert. She then spoke softly,

�Help is on the way��

�Huh?� I asked.

�~Sky Electric Wave!~� said a little girls voice. I turned to see that it was apparently the one known as Sky Lantern. She had wiped out the entire herd of deadly mini plants. �It seems you too could�ve used a little help,� she said. � Oh, Milli, you look so beat up,� she said running towards us. Milli sighed in relief.

�You�re always there when I need you the most, Arinu,� she said, drifting off to sleep. Arinu smiled,

�Best friends for life, pal,� she said. Then she looked over to me, � Let�s get her back to the room.� I nodded.

Milli�s point of view�

I woke up in my bed, finding Chace, Fi, Junior, and Arinu surrounding me. I still felt pretty weak. I guess that time it lasted a little longer.

�Hey everyone,� I said.

�Milli, is there something that you have been keeping us?� Junior asked. It then felt cold all around me.

�Junior, you know don�t you?� I asked him. He nodded,

�Yes, but I think it�s best that you let everyone else know as well.� I looked at everyone with a stream of tears running down my cheeks.

�I can�t! It�s too hard. I will hurt all the people that I love. And that causes more pain for me in my heart than the physical pain that I feel right now. I can�t simply say that I�m dy-� I cut myself off. The room went silent, but Chace finally go the message and walked over towards the bed. He looked at me with full sadness.

�She�s dying,� he said, with a tear running down his cheek. Everyone stormed into the room, and stared at me for the longest time.

�No, Milli! How?! Why?!� Arinu exclaimed. She too started to cry and Fi held on to her for comfort. I then felt guilty, but also afraid. Chace was just staring down and I couldn�t tell what his emotion was.

�Chace?� I asked. He grabbed onto my hand and I felt another strong blush rush on my face.

�Huh?� Everyone quickly evacuated the room (and I do mean quickly!) leaving me and Chace alone. I sweat-dropped. �Chace, I�m so sorry! I�m sorry! Please say something.� He looked up,

�I�m sorry, Milli, I just need this get through my head really quick. I just need to clear my thoughts. But it�s okay right? We can find a cure and-�

�I�m afraid not, Chace. For this is a spell that was cast upon me from an unknown source. I�m afraid there is no way I can be helped,� I said, interrupting him. Chace tried to speak, but words wouldn�t come out. He did have one thing working in his body. He leaned over towards me until he got close to my face. �What?- I asked myself. He then gave me the gentlist kiss on my lips and said,

�I guess I�ll have to see you as much as I can then.� He then gave me a smile and let go of my hand. I just knew that my blush was probably as red as a rose.
