Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Charity Trail Ride
July 17, 18, 19, 20, 2008

DIRECTIONS

Dear Trail Riders,

Thank you in advance for planning to attend the 2008 Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Trail Ride, July 17, 18, 19, 20, 2008.

The campsite is at Thomason Meadows approximately 28 miles from Enterprise.  The road is at first pavement and the last 2/3 a gravel road.  The camp is easily accessible for any size vehicles.

DIRECTIONS TO THE CAMPSITE: NOTE THE MAP BELOW
Coming from La Grande go thru Enterprise toward Joseph on Hwy 82 for 2.5 miles.  After you leave Enterprise and the speed changes to 55mph take a left on the 1st paved road to the left, Eggleson Lane.  **WATCH FOR TRAIL RIDE SIGNS**.  Follow the signs to BuckHorn LookOut/Zumwalt Road.  Go 5 miles there is a Y stay to the right, if you hit gravel at the Y you have gone the wrong way.  The road you want will be Thomason Meadows /Zumwalt Road to the right.  Drive 2.4 more miles and the road will change to gravel.  Follow the gravel road approximately 24 miles.  Make sure you don’t take any side roads.  The road may have washboards but it is a nice wide road.  The road is very well marked with Thomason Meadows /Buckhorn Lookout signs.  At 3.5 miles from camp you will go over the first of 3 cattle guards.  At the 3rd cattle guard you will see Thomason Meadows, our camp with tents set up.  Cross over the cattle guard and take a right into our camp.

Be sure to remember that all gas stations in Enterprise and Joseph close at 9:00 p.m. and don’t open on Sundays till 7:00 a.m.
