One can often turn a seemingly unimportant object into that vital piece of evidence which can be used to ultimately convict the accused. If one wishes to solve more crimes and solve them quicker, he must recognize and utilize scientific investigation.
The value of physical evidence is determined by how useful it is in verifying that a crime has been committed, identifying the person who did it, and exonerating all other persons who may be under suspicion. In order to obtain this physical evidence to catch the criminal, the individual making the crime scene search must be able to think like a criminal.
