SPM ARRESTED, CONVICTED AND SENTENCED TO 45 YEARS OF PRISON.
The following story is based on the information I researched about this situation.
6/3/02
In March of 2002, Carlos Coy (South Park Mexican), 31, was arrested on three counts of sexual assault involving two 14 year old girls. Two of these accounts involve alleged assaults that took place almost a decade ago. The third account involves an assault in February, while Coy was free on charges of aggravated assault of a child. Coy's attorney, Chip Lewis, said that all of the allegations were untrue and that they would be able to prove their case in court. Coy said that he has never seen the girl who accused him of assault in February.

"The girls were sexually assaulted by him," Denise Oncken, chief of the district attorney's Child Abuse Division told the Houston Chronicle. "In 1994, he assaulted one girl multiple times. In February, to another girl, it happend once."

Coy has admitted in the past to having relationships with younger women. He admitted to the Houston Chronicles that he had relations with a 13 year old in 1993 and fathered her son. "The case with the 9 year old (which allegedly occured in September 2000) is something I know I can get past and win," he said. "The case of the 13 year old is not winnable because the child is definitely my son."

SPM had recently release
Never Change and was set to release an album of unreleased freestyled entitled Reveille Park on April 28, 2002.

Carlos Coy (South Park Mexican) was denied bail related to charges of seven counts of sexual assault of a child. A judge in Houston ordered him to him to be held in Harris Country Jail until his trial was to begin in May of 2002. Coy's lawyer has been attempting to get him released, but the judge struck down the motion, saying that Coy shows substantial guilt. Coy was arrested in March of 2002 and was charged in connected with alleged sexual contact with six children over the age of 13.

On June 1, 2002, it was reported that Carlos Coy (South Park Mexican) was sentenced to 45 years in prison after a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting a 9 year old girl. Coy took the the stand in his own defense, despite objections from his attorney. He displayed no emotion when the judge read the sentence. On top of receiving 45 years in prison, he was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.

Coy's attorney Chip Lewis maintained that Coy was innocent and that he trial was based entirely on heresay. Coy testified that eight women, who claimed they had sex with him while still underage, were lying to the jury about their claims. Judge Mark Kent Eliis said the following, "Mr. Coy, I have spent 17 years in this courthouse, and in that time I have seen more sex offenders than I wish to remember. But one thing I have found over time is that sex offenders have on trait in common, and that is that they are all liars... and you are no exception to that rule."

The judge dismissed Coy's notion that he was also a victim in the case because of his celebrity as a wealthy rapper. The judge goes on to say, "The fact is that there is only one victim in this case, and it is a 9 year old girl. Now that is reality, and you need to deal with it. It's time for you to face the music."

Prosecutors were seeking a life sentence against Coy. Right now it is not known whether Coy plans to appeal the sentence.
