Recycling at School 2003-4
Since September 2003 Grade 6 and 7 French parents at Quilchena have
collected deposit containers to raise money for the 2003-4 Québec
trip. Altogether we raised nearly $700 and made a significant
contribution to the culture of the school by encouraging children to
recycle.
Parents of the graduating Grade 7 class would be happy to hand over
the recycling program, along with the nearly $200 remaining, which
might be used as seed money for the next trip to Quebec.
The handover would be on the understanding that Grade 4 and 5 parents
will continue the recycling program as a Quebec trip fundraiser and
as
a public service to the school. In turn, they would encourage the
Grade 2 and 3 parents following behind them to continue the program
as
well.
New volunteers should get involved before the end of June so
that we can train them for a smoother handover.
