The 3R's Campaign (Reference, Resources and Reading)
In 02/03 the 3R's
Campaign (Reference, Resources and Reading) was launched. Funds raised in
this campaign will go towards library and classroom reference material, resources
for all departments in the school and to the French and English reading programs.
Update from
the September 2003 PAC meeting:
A motion was passed
to allocate $2,000.00 towards the 'Primary Home Reading Program' (both
French Immersion and English) and $2,000.00 towards the ESL (English Second
Language) program.

expenditures:

Note: the 'Other'
category on the Fianacial Summary includes expenditures like,
- the annual book fair profits to benefit the library, and parents
encouraged to purchase books for their student’s classrooms/teacher.
- the raffle - international dinner (classroom funds)
- teacher's discretionary classroom funds
- artist in residence
- fine arts performances
- non annual expenditures on items for things like sports ans science,
as per this statement ,
"Over the years
'Other' spending has covered, in addition to the annual expenditures, things
like microscopes, plant growing table on wheels with special grow lighting,
televisions, VCRs,
a video camera, compact disc changers, art supplies, cassette player/recorders,
projector, tables for the June BBQ and
Autumn Bingo, earthquake emergency equipment, earthquake proof library
revolving racks, extra internet cabling, headphones, teacher/librarian
computer, choir vests, the music listening program, Voices From Nature
musical concert, school beautification, intermediate student wall mounted
lunch tables, basketball hoops, gym mat, gym sound system
(from 99/00 casino for computers and sound system), and books (from other
than Book Fair Sale proceeds)." from the financial summary as of Nov. 1,
2004.
