St. GEORGE PARISH CHURCH RESTORATION

The first phase of the restoration of the facade of the Church of St. George will soon be ready. After that the left steeple tower was ready last year the work continues on the right steeple tower. Now that the right steeple tower is ready the right facade restoration start. This will take until the end of May 2000 since afterwards preparations for the feast will start. Now the facade of the church is ready and the side has been started. When the side will be finished, now it is nearly it will be finished the first phase. This first phase has cost the parish church the sum of around Lm58,000 with the generous contribution of the people from Qormi. This also include the new spotlights and lighting that give new face to the church during the night.
On the 23rd April, 2001 the Arch priest said that the new Bell made in Russia will arrive at Qormi on the 17th June of this year. She the site of the new bell.

After the feast of this year 2001 and the procession of the 1st July, the second facade will start with the change of the interior electricity.

This and many more  projects can only be done by the hard work of the young, energetic Archpriest Fr. Frans Abdilla with the help of contributors who really love Qormi and the church & the feast.

The second phase of the interior electricity has been finshed before April 2002.
