Me and my Big Mouth:My Singing Career(Part Two)
During the 1998-99 school year, I was able to sing with the UCONN chorus. To the right and below are two programs from the year. While I only spent one year with the group, it was a great year full of great music. I have more pics from the UCONN chorus on my UCONN page(click here!).

Following my graduation from UCONN, I joined the Hartford Chorale for the 1999-2000 season. I was unable to sing in Fall 1999 due to academic conflicts, but joined the choir for Spring 2000. There were 2 performances, both with the Hartford Symphony. One was a performance of Elgar's Dream of Gerontius, and the other 4 were performances of Mahler's 8th with the Hartford Symphony, UCONN chorus, Hartford chorale, and Yale Camerata. It was great being able to sit with my UCONN chorus buddies again(despite incurring the wrath of Donna LeMay, Hartford Chorale stage manager). It was also great that I learned about the Yale Camerata, which is the group I sang with for the 2000-2001 season.

As I mentioned above, during the 2000-2001 season, I joined my 5th different choir(6, if the AOL chorus counts) in 5 consecutive years-the Yale Camerata, official choir of the Yale Institute of Sacred Music(click here for the link!). I found out about his group during the Mahler 8 performances. I actually attended a Camerata Mahler rehearsal(to make up for missing 3 Hartford Chorale rehearsals).

The Camerata performed in a "Bach and Beyond" Advent concert in the fall. In the spring, we performed Verdi Requiem twice with the Yale Glee Club and Yale Symphony-once at Woolsey Hall in New Haven and once at Carnegie Hall in New York. It was my third trip to Carnegie Hall, but still fun!
Above are the Camerata Advent concert program cover and the cover of the Verdi score. To the right are portions of the cover of the Carnegie Hall stagebill(the cover itself was a picture of Einstein and two other guys which I didn't feel like putting in.
As can be seen from my 2 pages, choral music has been and will continue to be a huge part of my life from all the different groups I've sung in. As far as this  year(2001-2002) goes, I have no idea where/if I'll be singing, but I know it won't be with the Camerata as I'll be in Boston as a dental student. I'll have to find another choir again, but I seem to be used to changing ensembles! For the time being, I'm only doing orchestra, but perhaps next spring my big mouth will be back to work! :)
