At Pei Han's Home

I printed 544 photos of our wedding, but have obviously not put them all here. Over the following four pages are almost 100 of those pictures, intended to provide a snapshot of the day. Enjoy!

30 December 2007. At our house tying ribbons onto the door handles of the car that would take me to Pei Han's house. In total there were six cars in our convoy to her house.

The busy bride in her brother's room at her parents' house getting ready.

Pei Han and her cousin, Yu Ting, who was her bridesmaid.

Awaiting Pei Han at her parents' home.

My family and I. The pink bowls contained a sweet dumpling soup, with six dumplings in each and we were instructed to eat all but two of them, for some reason unknown to me. I bribed Wesley into eating his by promising to buy him Macdonalds later!

Faye and my mother-in-law

When Pei Han was ready I was told to go upstairs to get her and give her wedding bouquet. I was impressed by how beautiful she looked!

I made a short speech to Pei Han's parents, thanking them for allowing me to marry their daughter and telling them that I would take care of her. This was a very emotional moment for Pei Han and her parents, but an extremely happy one for me.

Pei Han and I bowed three times to her parents as a sign of our respect for them.

My mother-in-law placed a red envelope around my neck with money in it as a wish for good luck and fortune. Pei Han was wearing a Chinese undergarment under her dress that also contained a red envelope from her parents, with four times the amount of money that they gave me!!

Pei Han's father covered her face with the veil before we left the house.

Jia Shing, my best man, drove me to my in-law's house and then drove Pei Han and I to the reception.

As we drove away from the house, Pei Han threw a fan out of her window, symbolizing that she is leaving her parental home.
