("At the Doctor's" continued)
B: Sure. Is it OK if my friend comes along? My English isn't so good.
Nurse: I suppose that'll be all right. First, let me take your temperature. Here, slip this under your tongue.
B: Excuse me?
Nurse: The thermometer. Put it under your tongue.
B: Really?
A: In Japan we put it under our arm.
Nurse: Is that right? That's interesting. Well, just keep the tip under your tongue, and hold it there. I'll check on you in a few minutes. (The nurse leaves.)
A: You look very funny!
B: mmmm. mmmm.
A: What?
B: mmmm. mmmm.
Nurse: Ok., let's see. A hundred and one. Well, you do have a slight fever. Let's check your blood pressure. Hold out your right arm for me. You'll feel a little bit of pressure. OK. 138 over 88. Are you allergic to any medications?
B: Excuse me?
Nurse: Allergies. Do you have a problem taking medicine?
B: Oh. No. No problem.
Nurse: OK. Are you taking any medicine now?
B: No.
Nurse: OK. That's all for now. The doctor will be right with you.
Doctor: Hi. I'm Doctor Smith. What seems to be the problem?
