Thank you so much for expressing interest in Q-Force. It has been wonderful to see such a positive responce from people of all ages to an organization that empowers lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, intersex, queer, & questioning young people through volunteering. While youth programs stop at 24 years of age, the problems young queers face do not. Q-Force bridges that gap and comtinues to bring community-building programs specific to our age groups interest and needs. Q-Force is the first organization in the San Francisco Bay Area to serve those "aging out" of youth programs. Since Q-Force began back in January 2002, we have already volunteered over 300 hours of time at different projects and signed up over 250 interested members. Among the organizations we have served are: Under One Roof, CATS, SF Food Bank, Glide, New Leaf Outreach to elders, Project Open Hand, Larkin Street Youth Services, Friends of the Urban Forrest, PAWS, and many others These organizations have relied on volunteering like ours to run their important services. Our Mission: Q-Force is a community-based (501c3) organization that brings together San Francisco Bay Area glbtiqq young people, ages 18-28. By coordinating volunteer opportunities and social activities, Q-Force supports communities in need and empowers its members. We invite you to share in our vision of a world where young queer people see a responsibility to help communities in need; where they refuse to see themselves as victims but instead see the power they have to help others. Your support is key at this time as our program is just starting and our "pockets are empty". Even the smallest donation makes a very important difference.
