(In addition, I have a photo with Tong Sau Cheung on her page) I married to a computer specialist ---software engineer to UNIX System Administrator---Ezekiel Wan. He got laid off twice. First time when they cut defense budget after the Persian Gulf War, then I have to come out and start working. 4 Years later, he was back to market, I stayed home again. 2 years ago, he was unemployed again (9/11 WTC tragedy making a lot of hi-tech people unemployed) and I started working again. My expertise is Language Analyst. My assignments include but limit to FBI language instructor, Interpretation & Translation including language coach of medical terminology. I am also a volunteer consultant for Center of Immigrant Health for Family Day/Health Day, Health Fairs plus being a Chinese Interpreter for Board of Elections New York City for over 10 years. (We have no children and that is why my husband and I are always invited to help in community events.) But my employment in "Consortium For Worker Education"--- Education Department right now is mainly Case Manager & Job Developer. I have close connection to the union workers or Chinatown garment workers or 9/11 victims including African French speaking victims. They need ESL (English as Second Language training) and vocational training. I need to help them with job matching and job placement. |
