Winter Wonderland - Danny Beardsley
The Winter Wonderland competition has been won by Danny Beardsley. The program is availiable for download. It was falling snow on a house and a tree. It was a very good program because of how the snow fell with varied colors and speeds. It also clumped together at the bottom of the screen. The only thing keeping this from getting a 9 or 9.5 was its user-friendliness. You had to press a letter like O for options or E to end. A menu with a selection where you press down/up then enter would be better.

Pong Game - Bud the Fish
Bud the Fish has created a very nice looking Pong game. It was a close competition, so I also gave an honorable mention to Statto Software for their StattoPong game. You can download both of these here at downloads. The graphics overall were great. The text was no the usual SCREEN 13, the stars in the background were cool, and the weapons looked awesome. You tend to concentrate on killing the opponent more than getting the ball past him, though. The only thing keeping this program from getting a 9.5 or a 10 is the fact that there is no sound. It would be great to have some sound programmed into it, because it would really bring out the feel of the weapons launching away twoards your opponent's ship.

StattoPong was also a good program to play. It had some flaws, but overall the program was made with much effort and I can see that. The sound is PC Speaker, not any Sound Blaster, but the sfx are played at the right times, which is good. The graphics could be a bit touched up, but as future versions come out, they should improve. The passwords are also a good idea.
