| BACKGROUND: | Kratu was born on Sphynx in the Manticorean System, Gamma Quadrent. his parents were both fairly wealthy, though his father was away most of the time. His older brother Rozias was a respected member of his races navy, and though Kratu envied him, he did not join. Instead, Kratu choose to be a Guardsman. He rose through the ranks of the Queens' elite, and he found he was attracted to the 2nd Queens younger sister, Vaneska. They were engaged, but she was later killed by Romulans during a visit to her parents on a colony world. Kratu vowed revenge over his lost loves grave, and left his homeworld.
Though his attempts to carry out his vow were unsuccesful, Kratu finally came to terms withi his loss, though the memory haunts him from time to time. He returned to his homeworld for a short time and studied his races religion. After several years, Kratu left his homeplanet for the last time.
Makeing his way to the Federation, Kratu was accepted into Starfleet Academy. Upon his graduateing, he was assigned to Xonnel Colony as security chief, where he seemed to quickly fit in. His racial instincts to hunt live food and to avoid small tight spaces became a problem he was soon able to get rid of by flying around the planet. Upon his first 'flight', Kratu stalked the planets native creatures, something that soon became a game, as well as exercise for him.
After spending several months on Xonnel Colony, Kratu requested to be perminatly assigned to Xonnel. His request was aproved by Captain Went. Soon after, Went was transferred to Starfleet Command, leaving Kratu to learn under another new CO. He soon grew to like McQueen, the new commander of Xonnel. However, with Captain Went's departure and after Kratu had served on Xonnel for some time after, Starfleet Command decided that Kratu could be of more use elsewhere. He has since been transferred to Starfleet Command pending another assignment. |
