Books
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine (Ian Watson) - most of this book is pretty sick, but if you check out my Warhammer 40,000 section in
the reason is obvious. Brains get eaten, people sliced in
Others ...
half by chainsaws, demons encompassing the living and heads being ripped off, all in all I loved this book!
Top 5
Children Of Dune (Frank Herbert) - most people would think that the original Dune book is the best, but I personally believe that the third book is. It has some nasty surprises in store for Paul's Children.
Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers (Grant Naylor) - the first Red Dwarf book published, and I still believe the best. The fact that it keeps selling well every year is an indication of it's popularity. I find the timelapse humour especially amusing.
Bottom 5
Silvers Revenge (Robert Lesson) - well if you ask me the sequel to an all time classic book such as Treasure Island should be written by the original author, not 200 years later. Quite stunningly boring.
The Art Of War (Sun Tzu) - written in approximately 2000BC this book is still the ultimate treatise on war. It is not too easy to read if you plan to read it like a novel, it is a treatise after all, but the advice and military genius shines through even 4000 years later.
A Dictionary of Angels (Gustav Davidson) - now this book is funny, plus some superb  religious art work. I've never laughed at a book so much, although a friend wrecked it a little by telling me that it was just metaphor!!!!! Damn him! Still did you know that the angel Azrael has "70,000 feet, 4000 wings and as many eyes and tongues as there are men in the world"? I bet you didn't! It would seem to make him a giant flying millipede with an exceptionally long head, sort of a giant T-shaped angel.
