Basically this is a short page of my other interests that I couldn't fit into specific pages.
Bujinkan Ninjutsu - I used to practice this art, but since I left University I haven't been able to find a local club. Still when I play football I can still forward flip as I used to be taught!
Space - this subject has fasinated me since I was very young. I always have wanted to be out there in the cold void, probably as a scientist, but doubling as a trader. The planets of our solar system have been of special interest. The wonders out there terrify and amaze (check out at least the three hundred year old tornado on Jupiter : it's Great Red Spot). The final fate of the universe and hence the human race are a much thought about subject. Space is an unbelievable blackness.
Science Fiction - as you may have guessed from the rest of my site I do have a tendancy to like Sci-Fi, not really Star Trek before everyone shouts FREAK, more in the lines of British Sci-Fi classics such as Red Dwarf and Blake's 7, now you can shout FREAK! The study of Sci-Fi takes me away from this festering planet (society), even if only for a moment it's worth it.
Chemistry - I feel as I have two degrees in chemistry it should get special mention. Chemistry is responsible for bombs, explosives and terrible weapons (this is obviously not a good thing, but if interest is taken check out the Jolly Roger link on the mainpage), it is also responsible for the production of plastics we take for granted, drugs (pharmaceutical and otherwise!), and vital studies for the future of the human race. I first took an interest when I got a unexepected 91% in test once at school. I have never looked at another subject with the same enthusiasm since. It is amazing, but be warned the undergraduate degree is hard (I got a measly third, a D, still maybe I'm just no good after all!).
Revenge - to quote Shakespeare "Prick us do we not blead, wrong us shall we not revenge". A part of my life which allows me to continue sane. If I feel wronged I always get revenge in someway, this may seem calous ("It is a dish best served cold"), but many would agree with me in private. However remember the famous quote "There is no profit in revenge". I shall add to this though "But it is gratifying". Revenge is a touchy subject to say the least, treat it with extreme caution, like Chemistry above.
Chaos - also known as anarchy. What can I say on this subject? Not much, well I can see what is used to prevent chaos, we sit at home in front of the TV watching mindless crap, or go to the cinema to see the next big movie that's out, or go to the pub in order to get drunk to either have a hangover the next morning or get into a fight, or both. It's all entertainment for the masses, but it has to be this way at this time. In the end just like religion we are kept trapped in order that anarchy and chaos do not brake out in our society. One of my favourite quotes is : "A society is only three meals from anarchy". This is so true if you take notice of the kind of people that live in "civilised society"! Money is a large part of the trapping process, we spend ages working to the bone for people that are ungrateful in order to pay for things that we simply don't need, check out "Fight Club" for examples. The love of money is the root of all evil, but remember people that say that money can't buy you happiness simply don't know where to shop! One of my favourite subjects, but not something that I hate, so it can't enter Room 101. Why don't I hate it? I feel pity for a society that is unable to see the obvious.
Collections - one of the few activities that still keeps me entertained in life. I have various collections, including a DVD collection, a religious book collection, a Red Dwarf collection and a Warhammer 40K collection. What I find to be the over-riding element about collections is obtaining rare pieces for the collections, here the internet has been invaluable. The feeling of joy that exists, even if only for a moment in obtaining a rare piece is unbelievable, you may have searched for years for that one item, and when it's finally in your hands, wow!!!!!!!
Playing My Guitar - so stress releaving, and to be able to create music, it is a unique feeling. I'm certainly not very good at playing, but I enjoy it. Tip: cheat and use a capo! Presently I only have one guitar, but I have plans to buy another two, including a resonator or slide guitar (a steel bodied guitar). Maybe when I get it I'll be able to play "Brothers In Arms" on it!
