Um, this question might have already been answered somewhere, but I'll ask anyway. How did the name Pyra come to be?

Oh, and Matt is testing yet another new Blogger feature.

Morten, you should be happy to know that Derek is still tightly involved with Pyra... He seems to be getting all the pre-beta features sooner than we mortals even learn of their existence...

Not too worry. We are just having some fun, letting them know we appreciate them and all they do in hopes they are getting some laughs and smiles out of it.

Don't listen to them, Jack. They're just jealous.

*Sigh* I wonder if Ev needs a personal assistant. You know, to make him coffee and get him stuff. I'd do it. For free, even!

Oh God! How dare I? I commented on the design of the god of great hair! And the god of great hair emailed me. And I replied to the god of great hair argumenting my critique. I'll be bound to Hell!

The goddess is busy cooking up yet another gift to us mortals, perhaps? I sure hope so! I am waiting with bated breath.

We've all learnt to expect great things from pyra at regular intervals. Now it's a while since the last big shot, and Meg is recreating that familiar rush atmosphere which usually anticipates a surprise. Be prepared.
posted by Stefano at 7:22 AM
Oh yeah... welcome Stefano! A big warm Pyra hug to you. And thanks for the info on Derek. I guess we need to pay more attention to MetaFilter.
posted by Morten at 6:31 AM
Derek left Pyra to dedicate his whole self to writing a book on "Design for Community" (I'm sooo looking forward to it...). There has been a thread in Metafilter about this.
By the way, hello everybody! I'm glad to join the worshipping.

A couple of corrections from the god of great hair:
1. It's Matt Hamer, not Hammer, and...
2. That's not his couch, but his friend Annette's.
There you have it, folks. A message straight from the deities... God, I feel like one of those Medjugorje teens.
posted by Morten at 8:57 PM
Seems like some of our dear deities have taken quite an interest in our little shrine, that is so great. I think Paul Day is a fabulous idea, he is definitely not appreciated enough. We love you, pb!
posted by at 7:16 PM
By the way, I've shifted the pictures of the deities (again). I got the chronology all mixed up. The one blessed with the great couch and a fantastic head of hair finally set the record straight. Thanks, Jack!
And to those who've inquired about joining the team, there is only one limitation: you can't be one of the deities.

I miss Derek. Why did he leave again? Does anybody know?

I think both Matts are smart. They both wear glasses, don't they? But I think Matt Hammer is smarter because he hasn't gotten married... yet. Ahahaha.. Lame joke, I know. :-)

I'm forewarning everyone now. The Pyra Shrine is recruiting more people. So don't be surprised if Pyra freaks unknown to you just start posting here. It's all one love for Pyra, baby!

Ooopss.. how rude of me... I forgot to introduce the latest worshipper in the Pyra Shrine. A big warm Pyra hug to Pyraguy, everyone! *HUG*
posted by Morten at 4:54 PM
Who is Pyraguy?
posted by at 4:50 PM
Isn't that weird that their are two Matt's at Pyra. I can't tell which one is smarter. Matt Hammer looks smarter in the picture, but I could be wrong. What do you guys think?
posted by at 4:25 PM
You're absolutely right. We need to be fair here and spread our love evenly. With that said, I officially declare today Paul Day. Jump everyone jump! Be happy! Say yay!
posted by Morten at 4:21 PM
Sure Meg is hot and everything, but nobody talks about Paul. Paul kicks ass. I love that guy. He says cool stuff all the time and yet people are always talking about Meg. Paul is like the sixth Beatle or something.

Oh, and to answer your question Per, I yanked that magnificent picture of Meg from Evan's site. I know I wasn't supposed to do that, but I took the chance anyway. I hope he doesn't turn me into a pile of useless binary codes.

Good day sunshine! What a lovely afternoon. I go and check our e-mail and guess what was waiting in the Inbox? An e-mail from Meg! Yes, the almighty Meg wrote us! I feel so blessed. And blissed. Blessed and blissed. It's like being touched by an angel. And not the Della Reese kind, mind you.
Anyway, we'd like to thank the goddess for letting us know that our work here is not in vain and that we do bring joy to those who brought us the best gift from the gods since fire... Blogger.

I want the couch on Saturn.org. It looks so comfy. I look at it and all I could think of is sitting on a pile of clouds. I wonder where Jack got it from. Ikea, maybe?

Congratulations on being the first to blog us, Jack, and don't worry - we'll get to worshipping you as well soon enough! (By the way, I love that top picture on saturn.)

I think they are trying to tell us. There are hints everywhere!
On a completely unrelated topic, where the hell is Jack? Is he on hiatus or something?
posted by Morten at 11:05 PM
Actually, I've stayed out of all that gossip. I figure if there was something going on and they wanted us to know about it, they would tell us. Otherwise I don't think speculation about it is too nice. Though I would hope all is going well if there is something going on.

Are Megnut and Kottke still an item? I'm getting this feeling that something's up with them. I think they broke up or are going through a relationship pain of some kind. I don't know... am I being too nosey? I'm not trying to be. I just want to know. Concerned, you know?

Oh, and by the way, we've got another genuflector in the Shrine. His name is Per Boye Clausen. Really funky boy with Megnut-blonde hair. Let's give him a warm Pyra hug. *HUG*
posted by Morten at 2:17 PM
Yup. Megnut is da bomb. She's one kewl lady. I've always wondered if she's naturally blonde or it's an acquired trait. What do you think, Pet?

I'm not sure what it is, but I'd still be attracted to him if he was bald. Besides, sometimes a bit of a receeding hairline can be sexy on a guy. Would you say that he is cute, handsome, or sexy? I think he might just be all three, if that is possible.
posted by at 3:28 PM
I've noticed lately that Ev's hair is getting thinner and actually recedes a little bit (from what his cam pics let on). I hope it's just the weird camera angling that's creating this illusion of imminent baldness. We don't want Ev to go bald, do we?

Evan is soOoOo right. That Jakob guy is a bit close-minded if you asked me. He needs to be spanked.
