| So its been about 6 months since Melissa and I packed up our apartmen, loaded up a U-Haul truck (with tons of help from her cousins Joe and Jim, plus I think Victor, Ariel, and Carmine were somewhere in the vicinity, but those reports are unconfirmed), and moved on down to Jersey. I can't say its been a smooth transition, but all things considered I think everything's going great. OK, so we had to shack up in my old room at my mom's house for the first 3 months, which couldn't have been easy on my mother, my sister Veronica and her 3 girls, or Melissa. But we managed OK and even had us some really nice moments there. But thankfully in December Melissa and I finally moved into our apartment in Belleville. Its actually the first floor of a 2 family house that my mother owns out here. Melissa put a lot of hard work into getting the place ready, and I'd say she did one hell of a job. I haven't put any pictures up yet, but when you see the before and after you'll understand what I'm talking about. The only hang-up is our upstairs neighbors...just kidding. The 2nd floor of this house is actually occupied by my oldest brother Diego and his wife Walmis (click here for more info). So now we're living in Belleville, right on the border of Nutely, right off a nice little town center. We're both working in NYC, which isn't too bad either as a bus to Port Authority runs 3 blocks from our apartment. And we're close too a lot of family and friends. What more could you ask for? I mean aside from a dumpster to load-up and haul away all of the materials and dirt left-over from all the recent renovations my mother put into this house...but more on that later. |
