| Congratulations Diego and Walmis!!! |
| In case some of you were not aware, my oldest brother, Diego, married Walmis Garcia this Saturday past, September 22nd. The ceremony was performed by Father Kevin Googliota, who was in the Boy Scouts with Diego and Jorge, and took place in St. Francis Xavier Church, which is the church we attended growing up and where my brothers and cousins and I served as Alter Boys while at St. Francis Xavier School, located next door. Standing by Diego's side were our cousin Albert DeJesus as the Best Man, and my brother Jorge, brother-in-law Eloy, cousin Robert DeJesus, and myself as Groomsmen, a.k.a. Rob's Crew. Walmis' bridal party consisted of her sister Miriela as the Maid of Honor, her cousin Yamaira, my sister Veronica and Walmis' friends -Sandra, and Laurie. My nieces Sarah and Natalie were joined by Walmis' cousin Emliy as Flower Girls, and my nephew Jorgie was the Ring Bearer. The reception was held at Iberia Restaurant in the down-neck section of Newark. The food was excellent, the wine was plentiful and everybody had a good time. Of course I have to say something about the music which kept us all moving throught the night. It was provided by a band called Hennessey's 2000, which includes many members from the old Los Cheveres de Columbia band. Among the noteworthies in the band is my cousin Eric Barriga, who they say has been in the band since before he had a moustache, although no one can confirm that rumor. Either way the music was excellent and featured one of my all-time favorite hits 'Cali Pachangera.' Anyway enough of this, let's get to the pictures. I ended up takling something like 145 pictures during the course of the festivities. Not all of them made it to my on-line photo album, but here are the ones that did: Wedding Pictures. Diego and Walmis are are their honeymoon now in beautiful Spain. I know you will all join me in wishing them a relaxing and inspiring journey and safe return. Maybe we can even get them to post some of the pictures from their trip. |
