Preparations for the Exhibition

An exhibition is held in conjunction with the book collection drive to raise the awareness of the this issue - the lack of access to an English-based education in developing countries to NUS students and the public.

Book Collection Drive at NUS Science Foyer, 23 - 24 September 2002

The collection drive cum exhibition was launched at NUS Science foyer from 23 - 24 September 2002 and at the Faculty of Arts outside the Computer Center from 25 - 26 September 2002.

Book collection drive at Bishan Community Club, 29 September 2002

We appeal to 2,000 households of Bishan East and North for donations of books and a collection drive cum exhibition was held on Sunday, 29 September 2002 at the Bishan Community Club in conjunction with a Children Day's party

Operation and Logistics

Located in Thanlyin Township, 25 miles south of Yangon at the banks of the Yangon River in Myanmar, the Thanlyin Parahita Orphanage is founded and run by 2 Buddhist monks. It provides basic education to 800 children, more than half of which are orphans from the Northeastern Shan State.

Boeng Korum Village School, Cambodia

Located 40 miles north of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, at the convergence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers, the Boeng Korum Village School serves a population of 1,200 children aged 4 - 12.
