| Shaka Zulu: This is a really loooooooooooooooong movie. It's only one tape, but it's at least four hours long. It's a really good movie, too. It tells about the Zulu chief Shaka, from his illegitimate birth to his forceful claim on the throne of the Zulus. A group of British travel to Africa to meet Shaka, and the movie also focuses on how their two cultures clash. Robert plays Dr. Henry Fynn, who actually is my favorite character. The acting and cinematography is really good, and I highly recommend this movie. |
| Dark Forces: I have to admit that Jesus of Nazareth is my favorite out of Robert's performances, but...I just got Dark Forces, and I think there's competition... Not so much as the cinematography or directing (or the plot), but Robert's acting is superb in this one. The movie is a modern remake of the story of Rasputin and the Czar Nicholas... if ou don't know your history you will have no idea what I'm talking about...but the plot focuses on the family of Senator Rast, a very powerful man with a wife (Sandra) and child (Alex). Alex is luekemic, and a powerful stranger shows up and cures him. The stranger, Gregory Wolfe (guess who?) possesses remarkable powers, and Sandra finds herself drawn to him. However, there are people who are trying to use the Senator and realize what a threat Wolfe is- and they would kill him to try to save their plans. This is a must- see (but only if you're a fan of Robert's- :)). And I believe Robert won an award for best male actor for this movie. |
| The Survivor: I didn't like this movie so much. Robert didn't have much to work with (plus it was late at night when I was watching it and it kind of freaked me out). The Survivor is about a pilot, Keller (Robert) who is the lone survivor of a plane crash. While everyone is trying to find out why the plane went down, a bunch of mysterious deaths occur. Keller meets a woman, Hobbs, who manages to convince him that the spirits of the passengers will not rest until they find out why the plane crashed. Hobbs has a psychic link with the people who were killed in the crash. Since Keller has amnesia and can't remember anything from the crash, he must go back to the plane and, with the help of Hobbs, re-live the crash. The ending really took me by surprise- I won't spoil it. The story plot was well thought out and the acting was good, but this movie didn't really do much for me. ******************************************************************** This film is BEAUTIFUL!!!! it was directed by David Hemmings (the same of Harlequin). The Story is the same as UNBREAKABLE but better!!! *hehehe* Robert plays a pilot who is the only survivor from a plane crash and he doen't remember anything about the accident. He meets a medium who is tormented by the spirits of the deaths who wants Robert to find and punish the guilty of this accident. It's a good film, too, with Jenny Agutter and Joseph Cotten, it was based on a book of the same title written by James Herbert (the same who wrote Die Hard 2 and many other novels). A little tip: do like I did, read the book if you haven't seen the film, at least you can imagine the story! *reviewed by Gisela Esparza |
Asylum This is actually a pretty good movie. It's supposed to be classified under horror, but it's not really scary. Robert plays a psychiatrist named Martin who applies for a position in an asylum. The owner of the asylum says that he will give Martin the job only if he can guess which one of the patients is Dr. Starr, the previous owner of the asylum. Martin agrees and interviews four patients, who tell him four stories. They are about a disembodied wife who seeks revenge on her husband for killing her, a suit that can bring dead people back to life, a woman who can't seem to stop her imaginary friend from killing everyone, and a man who wills his mind into little manequins. The movie has an unexpected twist at the end, and it's not a bad movie, so I recommend you see it. Robert does a pretty good job in it, too. |
