Hunchback

Surely you have seen this film and maybe you didn't realize Robert was in! (he appears some minutes realy) He plays Phoebus, the handsome guy from Victor Hugo's stry (that pushed me to read the Hunchback of Notre Dame!!) Anthony Hopkins played the Hunchback. It's a good film, well, Robert appears less than five minutes! you have to see it if you are a real fan!! *he he he*

The Italian Job

Another film we all have seen but never realized that Robert appeared just 20 seconds!! Even if Robert has a little part in it (a very, very, very young Robert Powell, the film was made in 1969) the film with Michael Caine, Noel Coward and Benny Hill is really a good one!! A wonderful comedy with the unforgettable mini-coopers pursuit in Turin, the music from Quincy Jones is good too. The story is about a man (Michael Caine) who plans to steal gold from the fiat in Italy, so he plans everything before going to Italy and he gathers a team of professional thieves (Robert is one of them!), but he has the Mafia behind him and etc. etc. etc. If you can see it watch carefully that handsome boy who says, "I need my cards, Charly!"

The Jigsaw Man

14 years later Robert joins Michael Caine in another film, now he has a little more to say!! *he he*. this film was made in 1983 and with Robert there are many stars such as Lawrence Olivier, Charles Gray and Susan George. It's a little bit complicated spy story: Michael Caine plays a russian secret agent who has changed his face and defects to England to rejoin his daughter who is the girlfriend of another secret agent (Robert!!!!!!!!) and that's all! Lawrence Olivier is the good guy and Charles Gray is the bad guy. Robert is like us, he doen'st understand what's happening in this confusing film! he, he, he. (I've found this film in my father's own collection when he recorded many films on tv).

What Waits Below

This movie was, er-- interesting. The acting wasn't so bad (Robert was fine, as usual) and the plot was actually kind of good.
Okay, I'll get on with the plot. This movie is about a group of people who are exploring caves- the lead is played by Robert (yay!), who portrays a mercenery named  Clayton "Wolf" Wolfson. The people discover an underground dwelling of humans who had broken away from civilization years ago, and lived in the caves. The cavedwellers don't really take kindly to the underground explorers, and lots of people get killed.
This movie isn't exactly the greatest one I own- I guess if you really really really want to see Robert in it you should see it. He has a lot of action sequences, and this was the first time I had seen him doing a fight sequence, so that was interesting.

The Asphyx

This is one of my favourite Robert Powell films!!! The story is very interesting, is kind of ghostbusters of the XIXth century (if we like! he he). A scientist had found the way to photograph the spirit of the dead (the asphyx, in the greek culture) and with a complicated mechanism he can get the asphyx of someone before dying and make him immortal. So the scientist, helped by his handsome assistant (a very, very young Robert, of course!!!) experiments his new invention oh himself successfully. As he had lost his wife and his son he wants to make immortal his daughter and her fiance (Robert!!) but they fail and ikill the girl (sniff) so the scientist wants to become mortal again but before that, Robert asks him to make him immortal but...sorry! you don't want to know the end!!! but I have to admit that this is a very difficult film to get. I was surprised to see there was a DVD but it ran out!! Such a pity, but who has this DVD?????? Anyway, it is not a horror film (not for me) but it's great!!!! really wonderful!!!!

The 39 Steps

This is a good film too, well you know if Robert is in the film it's obviously a good one!!! He has such a style of performance, he's unique!!! This is the story of  a man, Richard Hannay, who happens to be involved in an international spy web when his neighbour, who is a secret agent, takes refuge in him and then is murdered and Hannay is found tuilty, so he has to escape, find the information this guy got and prevent the assisination of a greek minister in order to prevent a war (??????)
This is a great film, a thousand times better than the Hitchcock one, and this version is a little closer to the book by John Buchan (it took me years to find that book!!) Sarah, you'll be glad to see again Robert in a fight scene!!! It's really amazing, he's a complete actor!! And so handsome!!
