Trying to fuse my knowledge of art and programming, I have discovered that videog games integrate the two disciplines seamlessly. Creating games is a great way for me to practice programming and creating art at the same time! The following are examples of several games or graphical demos that I have created. |
Fruits and Ghosts Fruits and Ghosts was a game I made back in 2002. In this game you are a boy trapped in a haunted forest and must chuck rocks and various fruits at ghosts to kill them. An intersting note is that this game contains almost 10 layers of parallax scrolling backgrounds! |

| SJSU Frogs These frogs are the result of a project I did for a graphics class. The program is simple graphical demo using openGL. No engine of any sort was used, it was just coded straight with C++ and openGL. SJSU CS Frogs starts you out flying through a randomly generated forest where you end up at a river where three frogs will light up the words SJSU Computer Science. |
After Dark A horror game I created with a partner for our Software Project course. The game was coded in C++ using a software framework called POP. I extended the framework to include lights in which I wrapped openGL's light functions into an object that could easily be adjusted. Lights not only enhanced the aesthetics of the game, but we also fused lighting into the gameplay of After Dark. The game is about a guy trapped in a haunted hotel looking for his girlfriend, while fending off zombies with his flashlight. He must use his flashlight to navigate in the dark and destroy zombies with its brightness, but he has to be careful not to let the batteries get too low. |
2.5-D Engine The 2.5-D Engine is a simple game engine I am currently working on. The engine was designed with C++ and DirectX 9. It was designed to support traditionally animated sprites over three dimensional backgrounds. With a modular and flexible design, the engine can easily be reused and expanded to include more features. The engine supports pixel precise collision of two dimensional sprites in a three dimensional environment. More features are added everyday and a demo of what the engine is capable of is in the works. This game engine is the culmination of all of my interests as a child. With it, I am able to make the games I want, with the art I want to see. |
