| Opening Day of the 2001 season. The A-1 Auto & Spring Late Model started the season at Barberton Speedway where Paul finished 11th in points and was named Rookie of the Year while running only a limited schedule at that track. Paul was the fastest qualifier at Barberton on its final race of the season. | |||||||||||

| Paul Jr., driving the freshly lettered Allied Auto machine, qualified 15th fastest out of 49 cars at the Columbus Speedway Main Event in his first time at that track. In the feature event, Paul moved up from 15th to 9th before his aggressiveness caused a cut down tire on lap 15. | |||||||||||
