| Basis Work in the ERP 6.0 SR3 Environment Thanks to many of you who have called or emailed me in the last few months. I am now on a new project. This one is more Netweaver Basis-like. I did many upgrades from R/4.7 EXT 2 to ECC 6.0 SR3 with Binding of EhP3 using Solution Manager, SCM 4.0 to SCM 5.50 SR3, EBP 4.0 to SRM 4.0. I also moved double-stacked, single-stacked CIs, built double-stacked dialog instances, did system copies, re-stored backups, etc...all this in the SR3 environment, of course. I found the worst thing is the documentation. Even when it is available, it is so obfuscated that it confuses more than it helps. ERP 6.0 is now a very complex product. So beware!. The SWITCH framework is a great innovation, however. I am trying to put together my experience during this period in a paper. I am re-writing the one that was published here some time ago. |
| APD as an API to Load Direct Update DSOs Data Store Objects (DSOs) for direct update (DU) replace what used to be transactional Operational Data Stores (ODSs). DU DSOs store data differently than standard DSOs. Only one DB table is used. DU DSOs cannot be loaded with regular BI loading processes. But using APD you will be able to load a DU DSO without having to write a line of code... |
| SAP Web Page Composer SAP Web Page Composer (WPC) helps to create a complete web site in addition to creating and publishing web pages in the Portal. WPC runs in the portal. | SAP MDM 7.1 Starting with release 7.1, SAP MDM is fully integrated into the Netweaver family of products. The installation uses Netweaver 7.1 SAPinst. Of course, it will be more involved to get your MDM system up and running. It is a long way from the time where with only a few clicks you have all the MDM servers installed. |
