Tilson C. Barden indicated his home as being Hudson when he enlisted, at age 27, on the 10th of May 1861. He was Company "B" First 2nd Lt.He was officially Promoted 2nd Lt. on 25 April 1861.
He was promoted to 1st Lt. on the 22nd of September 1861.
He Resigned on the 30th of August 1862.
He was Commissioned Captain on the 24th of February 1863.
On Dec. 14, 1863, he was wounded in action at Granger's Mill. "Capt Barden was shot in the ass last night" (Higgins Diary)
He was mustered again on Feb. 14, 1864 and was wounded for second time on May 6, 1864.
He was honorably discharged on the 6th of June 1864.
