Who are we? Welcome to our web site. 'Purple Deckers/Purple Decking Society' is the name adopted by a community of gardening students who studied together at Myerscough College near Preston, Lancashire, England. The name arose spontaneously after a discussion about the merits of wooden decking as a garden design feature, and whether painting it purple represents good or bad taste. The
aim of this site is to encourage knowledge sharing among gardening students.
