Chrissy is our second grand of our own breeding! We granded "Chrissy" at the Chantilly, VA, Regional Awards Show in June. Chrissy's pedigree name is "GC Purjam's Standing Outside The Fire", after a favorite tune sung by Garth Brooks and she is a tortoiseshell-color, persian female. Chrissy has had a great time in the show ring, talking and prancing her flashy coat around from the very beginning. Steve & Vicki Baylus helped us by agenting Chrissy as a champion and showing her until she granded, Thanks! Chrissy was born with a real show-woman personality and after having her first baby in October, has returned to her show career and she sucessfully completed her show career and was the 3rd Best of Breed and 3rd Best of Color Class in the Southern Region for the '99-2000 show season.
'Chrissy' is out of:
Sire: GRC Sholcin Silly Black Cloud of Purjam, aka Buddy,
Solid Black, and
Dam: GRC Lake Hyco's Flamingo Dancer of Purjam, aka Dancer,
Solid Red.Chrissy went to many finals as a kitten, making a final in every show but one. She granded in four shows, and will always be very special to us. She is named after a childhood pal, because they share the same sweet expression.
"Monty", pictured here at 4.5 months old, was a two show grand, and our fifth grand! He granded at the Greensboro, NC, Central Carolina Cat Fancier's show in July, 1999. His name is "GC Purjam's Midnight In Montgomery" and he is a solid black persian male. Monty was so cobby from birth that we knew we had a special boy. His big, round, gorgeous eyes can be seen from across the room. Their brillant copper color set against a background of a patent-leather-black coat makes this boy stand out in a crowd. Monty is very sweet, and always a gentleman, very easy to love.
Monty was "discovered" by AB Judge Jo Ann Cummings as a kitten, making 9th in her Allbreed Kitten final at the tender age of 4.5 months old. Jo Ann has continued to like him since that first show and often finds a place in her final for him. AB Judge Walter Hutzler saw Monty for the first time in July '99 and finaled him at that first show as a Champion. The following weekend 5 out of 8 judges finaled Monty and Walter Hutzler and LH Judge Sally Ulanosky both made him best LH CH and Best Cat in their rings! Steve & Vickie Baylus agented Monty as a champion and helped us show him until he became a grand champion. Thanks everyone!
Monty has gone on to be the Best Cat in Show, and has made all of his finals at several shows this fall. Monty's biggest fans have remained loyal and they have placed him in their finals consistently all year. Even at the end of the show season/year, Monty held his condition and weight beautifully, finaled consistently. Monty completed his show season sucessfully and was ranked 21st in CFA's highly competitive Southern Region! Monty is a Regional Winner, 3rd Best of Breed Division in the Southern Region, and 2nd Best of Color in the Southern Region for the 1999-2000 show season!'Monty' is out of :
Sire: GRC Sholcin Silly Black Cloud of Purjam, aka Buddy,
Solid Black, and
Dam: CH Citnkboodles' Magic of Purjam,
Solid Black.
A big thanks goes out to Edwin & Marion Nichols of Slohcin Cattery and to Cay & Reed of Citnkboodles in Ohio for these two lovely cats! Thanks is really not enough to say for all these folks have done to help two newer exhibitors. We would not be where we are today without their help and we have never forgotten their kindness.
"GPR Cattrax Sand Bar of Purjam". "Barney" was doing well in the show ring last season ['98-'99 show year]. He got an Upper Respitory illness as a result of severe allergies in late March/early April '99 and could not finish his show season. He was very close to a Regional Win and had been in the Regional standings most of the year, so naturally we are disappointed for him. We are glad that it wasn't anything too serious and continue to enjoy the companionship of this very special, ornery boy.
We finally got to show kittens of our own breeding and got to "grand" our first cat of our breeding in just four shows! His name is "GC Purjam's Saturday Night Fever" and "Fever" is a solid black persian male. When "Fever" went to his first show, he had his first final and got 5th place in Willa Hawke's Specialty ring! Thanks Willa for seeing the potential in our four and a half month old kitten! At his last kitten show in Statesville, NC, "Fever" was the best AB kitten in show! We'd like to thank the judges who finalled him: Vaughn Barber, Debbie Ritter, Barbara Sumner, David Mare, Patty Jacoberger, and Jody Garrison. Thanks again!
'Fever' is out of two Citnkboodles' cats.
Sire: CH Citnkboodles' St. Vincent of Purjam, aka Vinnie,
a Copper Eyed White (CEW), and
Dam: Citnkboodles' Gentle Soul of Purjam, aka Tillie,
a Copper Eyed White (CEW).
A big thanks goes out to Cay & Reed of Citnkboodles for these two lovely cats!

Michael and Debra Busick of KissNHug cattery surprised us at the National Capital show, September 2001, with a new, black, female adult to show! From the start, it seems she was destined to become part of our cattery. First, she is a black persian, one of our favorite colors to show, and she is named after my favorite perfume, Beautiful by Estee Lauder. We have been looking for a special female of this color since we granded our first show cat, Buddy.
Her name is GC KissNHug's Beautiful of Purjam and she granded Dec 2, 2001 at the Greater Baltimore CC show - Santa Paws & WHAT A CHRISTMAS PRESENT! She is out of NW, GC KissNHug's Drakkar and CH Citnkboodles Nightengale.Currently showing:
