| One day when he came again into the bathroom while I was there, he began trying to push a bottle cap under the door. But, he had managed to close the door. Due to the carpet in the hall, the cap would not go under the door as he expected. As he tried still harder to get that cap under that closed door he did a perfect somersault, got up turned the other direction and did another somersault, and then a third.... I laughed and gave him a "10". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Speaking of his gymnastic skills reminds me of what a show off he was once. I'd set up a video recorder to film his antics. When we got to the part of playing billiards, I left him - with camera rolling - on the pool table, while I went to get some laundry out of the dryer. I later learned that while I was away from the table, he'd pocketed 5 balls. And it had not taken him long to accomplish that. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| He just reminded me of another one of his favorite games: tag. He prepares for this by crouching under the piano bench whenever he suspects that I may be passing by soon. Then, whenever I walk past he runs and jumps and tags me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Occasionally, usually in the wee hours of pre-dawn, Albert goes on a rampage. Aside from the usual sorting miscellaneous papers, rubbing his clawless front paws on some closed box, and hiding numerous toys under furniture, he occasionally knocks over of the little trashcan in my bedroom; and once in awhile he goes ahead and clears several books off of the hall bookcase. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The new perch. Once for my birthday I got a new secretary's chair. Einstein inspected the box as the chair was being assembled. But as soon as it was finished he jumped onto it and struck a fine pose of conqueror. He has found that when he runs and jumps on it, it spins. He likes to spin. I've seen him jump off of it in a way that makes it begin to spin, then turn and jump back onto it in such a way that it spins even more. Sometimes I think I'll sit on that chair - but often he is on it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Prince Albert turned 14. He has slowed down some. When he was younger he loved to play. And Christmas time is that wonderful time of year when I put together the "artificial-tree-full-of-toys". He always enjoyed the challenge of undecorating that little, silver "tree". One night, when he was young, at about 3 AM (one rare night when I was sleeping) he brought me part of an ornament ...... still attached to the branch. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A problem is that "Einstein" keeps turning the printer on. This time (& it was good I was home) he stayed on the button long enough to kick it into the 'print the Test- pg mode'. It was beginning the 7th copy when I interrupted its routine. Then I thought, 'oh my! If I'd not been here it would have gone through the whole stack of paper. So now I need to remember to not leave any paper in the printer!' Well, I guess its safe to say he has piano lights, answering machines and printers figured out - as well as cabinet doors... (several now have "toddler-proof locks"). |
