| Being an intelligent, curious kitty, he loves to keep up with whatever I am doing. And so it was, that whenever I was in my bathroom, if I'd failed to close the door completely, he would shove it open and slink in. If I cracked open the shower doors, he would nose the edge of the door until he managed to slide it open enough to jump into the tub. The day came when I had finished taking a shower, dressed or wrapped a towel around myself, and opened the door. In he came as if to inspect to determine what I'd been up to in there with the door closed for so long. He jumped into the tub. He sat and watched as the last of the water drained. He sat there and watched that drain for quite a while. I wanted to encourage him to be friends with water. So, I stoppered the drain; put a little water in the tub; and placed some floating toys into the tub of water. Later, I found the drain stopper at the bottom of the basement steps. After that, I found a place out of his reach to store the drain stopper. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| He didn't really care for his bath while getting it. However, after being fluffed by the blow dryer for a little while, he seemed to demonstrate a very-pleased-with-himself attitude as he preened his coat further. But, my little snickerdoodle also liked to go to the basement whenever he had a chance. He always managed to find the dirt in the basement. One such day he found a lot of dirt atop a furnace vent. Unfortunately for me, it was a day when he had already had a bath. Now, due to my back problems, his bath was always much harder on me than on him. But, nevertheless, that day, he got two. And, he gets very few opportunities to go downstairs now. He gets about 1 bath a year. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| One day, when I knew that he was due a bath again, but I was procrastinating, he came into the bathroom following my shower, and opened the shower door. I remembered that he had an appointment at the Veterinarians' office later that day. So, I asked him, "Do you want a bath?" He jumped into the tub. He got his bath. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| Playtime is anytime. It didn't take him long to teach me how he wanted my active participation. After some of this training, I learned that if I did my part well I would be rewarded. And so, I learned how to prepare the course and wave a long ribbon. Albert perfected the running and jumping required to complete his special obstacle course which included running through a triangle "box", and jumping over a small footstool. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Anything can be a toy. Small toys such as film cannisters, bottle caps, and ink pens are to be placed out of reach under furniture. I'm quite sure that I shall never find all of the missing ink pens. Once I grabbed my yardstick, got down on my hands and knees and crawled around my livingroom attempting to recover securely hidden "toys". That time, if I recall correct, I recovered about 28 small items. Somehow, Albert found an interesting fact that the flatter milk bottle caps could be slid under the bathroom door, near the hinged end of the door when the door was open. I collected seveal from around the house and placed them behind that door. He went behind the door and worked to get all of the bottle caps under the door. Then, being ever so efficient, he walked around to the front side of the door, and pushed them back under the door. Etc. | ||||||||||||||||||||
