Summer Secrets
Chapter 14
Rain slowly began to drizzle down the window as Summer gazed out it.  JC was off saying goodnight to Erin, while Summer waited in the car.  Of course as she had expected it the night had been wonderful; or at least it would have been wonderful it she wouldn't have been agonizing over JC the entire evening.  Erin was pleasant from her first 'Hello' to her last 'Goodbye'. Summer quickly glanced over to the door of Erin's apartment.  Jealously Summer glared at her as she giggled with JC.

After taking a deep breath to calm her rage Summer's heart stopped;  for the sight in front of her was more painful than she could have ever imagined.  She couldn't help but stare as Erin full lips devoured JC's in a multitude of kisses that sent anger and jealousy surging through Summer's vein.  Summer watched as Erin's perfectly polished hand went around his neck and how his hands fit perfectly on the curves of her waist.

"Wonderful.  They're even perfect at kissing each other." Summer thought out loud.  A single tear slip down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away.  She looked over again and JC had released his lip lock and was now saying a final goodbye with yet another full forced kiss.  Unable to look anymore, Summer put her head down to prevent further tears from running down her cheek.

Before she knew it JC was opening the door and quickly hopping behind the wheel to escape from the rain that was harshly pouring down. JC glanced over to her and found that her head was down.

"Are you ok?" JC asked a bit concerned.

"No, yeah I'm fine." She said with a smile, but of course he knew something was wrong.  The corners of her lips twitched and that gave it all away.  Although he was dying to comfort her, he refrained from doing so and began to drive.  Once at JC's house Summer hurried up the steps to change out of far too expensive dress and into pajamas.  She quickly changed and washed off the pound and a half of make up that coated every curve of her face.  "Why did I even try?" She asked herself  with a bitter laugh once she had washed off all the make-up and looked at herself in the mirror.

"I'm not going to cry." She told herself trying to be strong.  She bit her bottom lip to hold back the tears, but there was no use; the endless rivers of salty tears began to pour down her face.  She covered her face with her hands and mentally scolded herself for crying.  "He's just a guy." She reminded, "I always told myself I would never cry for a guy!"

As the battle between her mind and the drowning tears continued, she looked at herself.  He cheeks were now red and wet, spit was beginning to fly from her mouth from talking to herself, and pieces of hair were beginning to stick to her face.  She pulled back her long black hair and quickly splashed water on her face.

"Stop it Summer! Get a hold of yourself!" She berated herself.  Her speaking was interrupted by a knocking of the door an a faint "Summer" coming from the other side.

"Umm Hold on!" She said and wiped her face with a towel.  Immediately her tears ceased and she said, "Come in."

Quietly, JC stepped in the door wearing long pajamas pants a t-shirt and no shoes or socks.  The moment his eyes locked with her wet swollen eyes, he felt as if the world were falling apart.  This incredible creature before him was hurt, and he didn't know why.  Summer quickly turned around to hang the towel back up and hide her face.  She had noticed his surprise when he was her face and that wasn't something she wanted.  She didn't want him to know how torn up she was.

"What's wrong?" He asked somberly.

"Nothing, I just ugh I got some soap in my eyes." She lied; but of course JC saw right through that.

"No.  That's not it.  Something's wrong."

"No.  Nothing is wrong. You always think something's wrong! Nothing is wrong! I'm fine!" She said a bit angrily.  She could feel herself growing hot again and the tears were beginning to rise.

"Summer, I didn't mean to sound like I know all, but I think something is wrong."

"Nothing is wrong." She stated after taking a deep breath.

"Can you just tell me.  I know something is wrong.  What is it? Don't you trust me anymore?" JC demanded.  By this time Summer was fuming.

"You want to know what's wrong!?! I'll tell you what's wrong!" Summer yelled.  JC looked at her wide eyed.  "What's wrong is you're with some girl that is absolutely perfect! She's pretty! She's smart!  She's nice! Did I mention she's gorgeous? Every time you talk about her I'm jealous! You were kissing her! I know she's your girlfriend, but I don't want her to be your girlfriend!" JC looked at her blankly as she spoke.  Summer had lost control and began to spill out everything.  "The truth is I'm in love with you! Yes! Me! That's right! Stupid little, ugly Summer Anderson! I'm so in love with you I'm going completely crazy.  I can't do anything but think of you and how much I want you!  I hate Erin for having you! I hate myself for not having you! and I hate the fact that I can be sitting right next to you and know that I can't have you because I can never be good enough for you! And today when I saw you with her I just realized how much I'm crazy about you and how jealous I am of her.  Of all of her.  She has everything!"

"Summer-" He started before he was interrupted.

"I'm not done yet! Let me get this out! I've already made an idiot out of myself and now just let me finish!" Summer said stubbornly without looking at him.  JC stood behind her with a small smile on his face.  "I hate Erin. I don't even know her and I hate her.  She's too perfect! Oh yeah... And I don't want to be with Landon! Landon and me just don't click! He isn't... He isn't you!  Every guy I've ever met has always, in my mind, been compared to you and no one will ever be good enough for me, because they aren't you.  I know that you have Erin and I know that you are happy with her, and I'm not asking for anything but I just think that-"

"SUMMER!"  He said stopping her.  Summer spun around to find JC directly in front of her.  She took a deep breath and looked at him.  He simply smiled at her and wiped away a single tear that had flown half way down her cheek.  Without saying one word he leant forward and touched his lips against hers and slowly began to deepen the kiss.  As his lips massaged hers his fingers carefully stroked the ends of her long back hair.  Caught up in the passionate kiss, Summer snaked her hands slowly around his neck.  Reluctantly Summer let go of JC's now swollen lips to take a breath.  As her eyes traveled up to his she suddenly became embarrassed although she was unsure of why.  In their silence, JC reached up his hand and caressed her soft rosy cheek.  Goosebumps attacked her entire body just at the feel of his skin against hers.  She took a deep breath and looked to compose herself.  He smiled a bit as he sensed her nervousness.

"I love you." He said lifting her chin with his hand.  Once again their lips met and they were both enthralled in the perpetual bliss of being with one another.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His crystal blue eyes slowly blinked open as the sunlight gently reflect off his blinking eyes lids.  He looked down at what bound his arm down and smiled.  In that instance every event of the previous night came flooding back: the kisses, the passion, the overwhelming love.  Gently he stroked her nake back as she slept peacefully.  It was all coming true.  Every desire of having her had been fulfilled and the reality of it was even more ravishing than the simple fantasy.  He felt her stir next to him and she lazily opened her eyes and looked up.

"Good morning." He said and softly kissed her lips.  Once their kiss was broken Summer granted him a smile he did not recognize.  It was not a hurt or distressed smile, yet not any smile he had ever seen of simple happiness; it was a calm and unstirred and completely comfortable smile.

Summer snuggled closer to him, she wasn't sure of what to say; for she had never been in this situation before.  Never had she been in love and openly said it.  Never had she been as intimately close as she was at this very moment.  As inconspicuous as possible, she pulled the sheet up to cover areas that had not been seen been shown since she was coming out of a uterus.  He sensed her uneasiness and pulled the sheet up closer to her.  JC felt her smile again his chest.

"What about Erin?" Summer bit her lip and glanced up at him.  His eyes layed on her for a moment and was captivated by her bright green eyes.

"I don't know.  I'll just tell her the truth." JC reasoned.  Summer nodded lightly sat up straight, holding the sheets closely to her chest, as not to reveal anything.  Using his index finger, JC drew small shapes on Summer's back.  "Why were you ever jealous of Erin?"

Summer took a deep breath before replying.  "Because she's beautiful."

"You're beautiful."

"No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are."

"No"

"Yes! Don't argue with me!" He laughed as he pulled her back against him and softly kissed her bare shoulder.  "Is that it?"

"Well no.  I mean I figured that was what you wanted.  A very pretty, smart, funny, interesting girl.  You know kind of like Becki or Nichole or Gracie or Denise."

"I did want a pretty, smart, funny, interesting girl.  That's you." He said as he sweetly caressed her cheek.  Summer glanced over at him with a look that said 'whatever'.  "You don't have to be a model to be beautiful."

"I know."

"Then?"

"I don't know." Summer laughed lightly.  "I'm going to go take a shower." She slipped on his shirt that fit her long enough to cover everything and then headed out.  JC stood up and quickly throwed on some other pajamas.  He set off to make breakfast.
