| Summer Secrets Chapter 1 |
| Summer wasn't beautiful. Not Summer like the season, Summer like the person. There was nothing special about her bright red hair, green eyes, and tanned skin. It was just plain. Although her appearance was ordinary, Summer was different. Sure like any other girl she had just finished college and was now working on her way to one of the most prestigious law schools in the country, but there was something different about Summer. She wasn't famous or shockingly rich. She was simply Summer Anderson and that was something all in itself. Growing up, Summer wasn't like all the other girls. As a toddler she never took ballet classes or any type of dance class like little girls tend to do. She didn't play sports as a kid. And as a teenager she never really had a boyfriend. Not that she couldn't get one. It was just she didn't want one. None of them could ever rise to her expectations of what a relationship would be like. Perhaps one could say Summer did not live life to the fullest in those years in which are often known as "the ones that count." But Summer didn't think so. To her, her countless hours of studying had paid off. Summer wasn't a complete loser as one might come to think. She did have a few friends. One in particular. Her best friend. They had been friends since she was born. He was a few years older than her but age didn't matter. They were inseparable. That was until he left to pursue his career. His singing career. Because of him she was in this horrible situation. Well it only seemed horrible because of her intense fear of flying. That was exactly where she was. Sitting on a plane, in the air, flying over the United States. It was all for him. Pretty soon she would be in Florida visiting a friend she hadn't seen in over a year. Although it had been a year his features were perfectly visible in her mind. She could still see his crystal blue eyes, his dark hair, and high cheek bones. Summer relaxed in her seat and closed her eyes. In a few hours she would be on sturdy ground with her friend. She smiled at the thought of him and soon drifted off into a light sleep. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JC pulled his baseball hat down closer to his eyes. He didn't want to be seen. Not now. Not by anyone. He stood silently as he waited for all the passengers to exit the plane. His eyes searched everywhere for any glimpse of her. Finally after most everyone had gotten off he spotted her bright red hair. He immediately lit up. He saw her look around in search of him. He couldn't help but smile. "Summer!" He called. Summer instinctively turned around at the sound of her name. She saw him standing in a corner and walked toward him. "Hey!" She said and gave him a hug. "How've you been?" "Good. How was the flight?" He asked, knowing how much she dreaded to fly. "It was well, I feel asleep almost all of it so I guess it was good." She said with a small laugh. Now Summer's laugh wasn't the ordinary laugh of a 21 year old girl. Most girl at 21 have a cute flirty giggle, but Summer's was different. Something completely unexplainable. Not that it was a cackle or anything. It was just... different. "Let's get your bag." JC said and they headed to the baggage claim. They picked up Summer's duffel bag and headed out to JC's Jeep, which was parked in the closest parking lot. Once in JC's car and on the highway they could talk. "I can't believe you're here!" JC said finally with a laugh. "Why?" She asked smiling back at him as he drove. "I don't know. You just don't fly. And Yeah, I'm going to shut up now before I sound even stupider." "More stupid" She corrected. "Yeah whatever." He laughed (He wasn't angry). "I can't wait until you meet the guys." "Me too. I'm kind of nervous to tell you the truth." Summer admitted and blushed. "Don't be. They'll love you. You're my best friend, they have to love you." JC said with a confident smile. Summer took a deep breath as they pulled up to a large house. "Nice place." Summer smirked once they had parked in JC's driveway. "Not too bad huh?" He said with a wide grin. "Come on, I'll show you to your room." Summer followed JC inside. The house was nicely decorated. It was nice and tidy, yet it still had that homey feel to it. He led her to a room which was painted blue and had matching sheets. "Here you are." He said and placed her bag on the bed. "Thanks." She said with a smile. "Ok well do whatever girl thing you have to do because we're going to dinner with everyone in 2 hours. Is that ok?" JC asked. "Yeah, where are we going?" Summer asked. He knew exactly what she wanted to know. What should she wear. "Casual." He said with a knowing smile. He walked toward the door and shut it behind him. Summer looked around the room. She herself couldn't believe she was there. She quickly hoped in the shower and got ready. Within an hour she was ready. She walked out of the room in search of JC. He was no where to be found. Until she heard the shower running upstairs and his faint singing she hadn't realized he was getting ready. She patiently sat down and watched TV. After half an hour and an episode of 'The Real World' JC came strolling down the stairs. "Ok ready to go?" JC asked. "As ready as I'll ever be." She said with a nervous smile and they headed out the door. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
