UPDATE AS OF APRIL 3RD, 2005:
He has an inner strength that is conveyed through his eyes, and true to the breed he never lost his trust or faith in man. He has gained 15lbs and is up to 55, still 24lbs under his placement weight, but his physical condition continues to improve. He does still have a long way to go, and may need to have some skin grafts to heal some pressure point wounds that exposed bone. He is up and more active lately, and went for a walk outside of his isolation kennel yesterday. The adoption director at the SPCA tells me she has received "hundreds" of applications for him. The PR director is amazed at the scope of support they have received for him from across the nation. Poor Samson doesn't realize what a story he has become, he just likes to wag his tail and get his ears scratched. With the support you and others in the Greyhound community have supplied, I am sure he will be able to do that for years to come.
Thank you, for your generous efforts, Gary Woods President BGA
