"I LIVE!!!" Mark was born covered with vernix (a cheesy looking substance) so he got a bath very, very early in his life. Chris says Mark actually was a lot cheesier looking than this (I guess he's been partly cleaned up here).
That's a nurse in this pic, not me. Mark is finally cleaned off. Some of his hair is pretty light colored, so it just looks like he has a very high hairline.
In the hospital bassinet. By the way, there are no good pictures of me in the hospital. Sally claims it's because of the harsh hospital lighting. Chris blames the camera. Either way, you won't see any pix of me in the hospital, although there's some otherwise nice ones of me and Katie that, were I looking okay, I'd be posting here.
Closeup in the bassinet.
Oh, hello there!
Daddy and Son. Chris calls Mark "little dude."
Chris feeds Mark a bottle while Mommy is in the recovery room. They wrapped a warm blanket around Chris since it was cold in the room he and the baby were in.
Say Hi, Mark! Notice how Mark is a little pinkish? Sally says she thinks Mark is going to be very fair-skinned and likely to sunburn easily. If so, he got it from Chris.
Firecracker plants are blooming! This one, for some reason, is nearly on the ground, but most of the time they're upright with the bright pink-red blossoms drooping gracefully from the stem. The colors are stronger than in this picture.
The Laundry Bandit strikes again! Katie is caught dismantling the laundry cart. But she's so cute!
Um, still cute, but...
... we're gonna get a new laundry cart, I think. Yep.
Check out the corn! Porch door provided for height comparison.
More corn.
A zinnia opens up.
Green tomatoes.
A teeny (so far) melon.
Yet more corn, and melons.
Friends, Romans, countrymen... lend me your ears.
Saturday morning, Mark goes for an early morning walk to get a little light sun.
