I called you up the other day
Asked if you wanted to hang out

To get to know each other
You said you were busy
And I acted like it was ok
I told you I�d see you around school
My friend called you later that night
Not knowing of our earlier conversation
You told her what happened
And that you�d get to know me in school
But I doubt that will happen
All of our friends will be there
And it will be the same
The same as the last time
We were both really shy
There we were standing around
You were with your friends
And I was with mine
You stood there staring at the ground
But I could see you blushing
The only thing we said to each other was hi
Our friends did all the talking
We just stood there
They told us to shake hands
I found that really funny
But I never knew what came next
One of your friends told you to hug me
And then all of a sudden we were hugging
I don�t want this to turn out like last year
So I�m taking my time
Sitting here waiting
