Feb 24th...Less Than Jake
w/ Anti-Flag, New Found Glory, and Teen Idols
There will be no pictures of the show.  My apologies, I could not get a photo pass for it.

First to go on stage were the Teen Idols, an awesome punk band off of Honest Don's Records.  The Teen Idols played a very hasty set, running songs together, rarely stopping to greet the crowd.  They played what seemed like 5 songs in a row with no stopping in between songs before they paused and talked for a bit, then did it all over again.  I must hand it to them, though, it is pretty hard to do to play that quickly.  They did play very energetically and played their best songs including "1989."  I really enjoyed how they use the gimmick of their 1950s teen stars on stage sporting leather jackets, slicked back hair, and those cool-looking, chrome microphones too.  Despite the minor flaws, I enjoyed their performance.
Second on stage was New Found Glory.  Their set was nothing spectacular, for they went downhill as their set went on but did make a comeback towards the end, playing some very good songs.  They played a lot of new songs including "Better Off Dead" and "Hit or Miss."  Much to my dismay, they did not play their great cover of "That Thing You Do" from the movie of the same title.  Overall, I think their performance could have been better, they did not steer me away from listening to their music, I still think they're a great band, and if I had a chance to see them again I would.

New signees to Fat Wreck Chords, Anti-Flag, came onstage third.  Now, if you don't know who Anti-Flag is, they are a Brit skate punk band and, as you probably noticed from the name, are about as anti-governmental as one can get.  They played an awesome set and threw in some very nice speeches about some important issues.  They played songs like "You Got To Die For The Government" and "Fuck Police Brutality."  Some people did not enjoy the speeches, but I happened to think they proved some awfully great points.  Anti-Flag played a flawless set and were absolutely fabulous!

Last but definately not least, Less Than Jake graced us with their presence.  The band everyone was waiting for was finally on stage.  On tour to promote their new cd "Borders and Boundaries," Less Than Jake did not play many songs from it but did play many, many songs from the albums "Losing Streak" and "Hello Rockview" including hits like "Jen Doesn't Like Me Anymore" and "Automatic."  LTJ's onstage antics were almost as amusing as the show.  They had the two dancers dress up in skimpy clothing with one wearing a short skirt, and the other wearing nothing but sweaty underwear and chaps...kinky.  Less Than Jake put on the most excellent show I've ever seen and can't wait to see them on the Vans Warped Tour.
