| Snapcase Rips into 2001 |
| Victory Records' top-selling artist all-time, Snapcase, will be releasing a number of new stuff this year. With already completing their string of events with Papa Roach on the "Raid the Nation" tour as well as a full U.S. tour with Face to Face, Snapcase will be releasing a rarities album including songs you probably have never heard. They will also be releasing a home video/dvd documentary and also a brand spankin' new LP this summer, one of the year's most anticipated releases. |
| Weezer off Warped Tour |
| Weezer has announced that they will NOT be joining this summer's Vans Warped Tour because they are instead going to be launching their own tour to support the release of their newest album. The band claimed they never actually signed onto the summer tour. Bands that will be completing the full tour are Less Than Jake, 311, Rollins Band, The Vandals, New Found Glory, H2O, The Ataris, The Living End, AFI, Guttermouth, Distillers, Good Charlotte, Hank Williams III, Pennywise, Rancid, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Fenix TX, Bouncing Souls, Alien Ant Farm, Kool Keith, Dub Pistols, Flogging Molly, and Morgan Heritage. |

| Ska band Blue Meanies announced their departure from one another after their show at The Metro in Chicago. After 14 years of being a band, it is unlikely that other members will continue. |
| Catch 22 Cancel Tour Due to Singer's Departure |
| Catch 22 has been forced to cancel their upcoming U.S. tour with the RxBandits due to the departure of singer Jeff Davidson. They will still be touring with Jeff in Europe in May, but when they return they will be forced to find yet another lead singer. The remaining six members are really set on continuing with Catch 22. |
| Joey Was a Punk Rocker |
| Punk pioneer, Joey Ramone, after a long battle with cancer, died at the age of 49 on Sunday, April 15. He was admitted into the hospital in March with lymphoma Born Jeffrey Hymen, Joey and his band adopted the common last name and named their band accordingly. The Ramones formed in 1974 sporting their gangly lead singer and recorded their first album in 1976, spawning British punk bands such as the Sex Pistols and the Clash. Over the years, Dee Dee, Johnny, Tommy, and Joey Ramone pumped out their quick, 2 minute songs to perfection. They released some of the greatest songs of all time such as "I Wanna Be Sedated," "Beat on the Brat," "Sheena is a Punk Rocker," and "Teenage Lobotomy." The Ramones separated in 1996 and Joey worked on a solo project while keeping in a low-profile life. Although his solo work has never been release to this day, reports say that the project will, in fact, be released to celebrate the life of the founder of punk rock. |
