| Hmm... what can I say about this movie? Brilliant is one word, magical another. Of course, if I used either of these words to describe this particular movie, I would be lying to you. Now, I'm not saying that this is the worst movie I've ever seen, I'm just saying that the book was much, much better. The movie is actually fairly close to the book, apart from some switching of lines and chronological rearrangement, they're almost indistinguishable. However, one of the big letdowns is Dumbledore. In the book, Dumbledore is a delightfully eccentric old crackpot. In the movie, he almost appears (gasp)... sane. However, the movie did have it's good points. Alan Rickman does a masterful job as Professor Snape. The other high point is the Quidditch match. It is, quite simply, one of the coolest sequences in any movie... ever. That scene makes the entire movie worthwhile. It really does. Well, anyways, though I didn't like it myself, I would advise you to go see Harry and his friends in their wacky adventures. Oh, before I finish, here's an interesting fact. Halfway through shooting, Daniel Radcliffes voice began to change. They had to use a voice double for nearly all his dialogue. |
