| The Haunt 2001: A Review by Isak |
Two of the staff here at The Paper recently went to the haunted house called The Haunt 2001 Here is their review: The Haunt is a haunted house located on 28th street and Breton. It was about a fifteen minute wait and it was pretty much worth it. After the wait, which was outside so dress warm, there was a entrance hall where you could warm up a little bit and then an admissions booth. The price was somewhat steep, twelve dollars. But hey, what's the point of having money if you cant spend it? After you got your tickets you went and stood in line for a bit. While you were waiting you kept getting blasted with fake fog every few seconds that got you pretty wasted. They also had this fake mock up of a house with a lot of detail. They had a fake outhouse (and let me tell you, you don't want to get it confused with the real bathroom like I did), a well where you could give them even more money under the pretext of making a wish, and even a clothes line with real clothes on it including boxers, although i dont want to know where they got all those clothes from. Now in the interest of keeping it interesting for when you do go, i will only tell you a little more about it. They have some really dark spots in it, which is bad because some people where running into the wall. They have a 3-D glasses zone where everything seems to pop out at you. And finally at the end they have a crappy gift shop for the people who were such bad actors that they couldn't cut it wearing a costume. So here is the whole article compressed into a few bullet points Price: $12, Friday and Saturday $10, all other days Location: 28th Street and Breton Hours: Weekends: 7:30p.m. to midnight Weekdays: 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Closed Monday and Sunday Time Running: Now through November 3rd Rating: 8 (out of 10) We took away points because there were places where Noah walked into the wall and the spacing between groups was pretty bad towards the end. |
