THE STORY OF THIS ENGINE
This picture was taken just after restoration around 1954. The boy sitting on the front wheel is my father, W.J. Shultz & to his left is my grandfather Q.W. Shultz. The man with the dark shirt is my grandfather's steam buddy Raleigh Waltmann, who owns Case 50hp #33991. At far right is my grandfather's steam engine mentor & at far left is Raleigh's mentor. Contractor's bunkers & canopy were added later.

Here is #33992 in the big barn on the farm in Iowa. My girlfriend Wendy is 5'7" for a size comparison. Notice the ancient but immaculate John Deere horse-drawn corn planter at the right side of the picture. I took this picture standing on the John Deere 3020 also kept in this barn. You can see the old corn planter a little better as well. The old hay wagon in the foreground has old steel wheels.

A view of the smoke box looking down the flues. The coffee can is covering the blower to protect it. The bottom hand hole plate can also be seen at the bottom of the flue sheet. The smoke box door has 5 latches. In this view the steam cylinder, governor, 3 whistles, & feed water heater. The 50hp rating of this engine sounds weak compared to modern engines, but 5000 foot-pounds of TORQUE at 100 rpm is unstoppable!!

PONTIAC! PT-19A!
Here is the Case seperator that goes with #33992. It is made of metal & has a 32" cylinder. Back in the 50's & 60's my grandfather Quentin & some help would put on "Threshing Bees" out at the farm. People from town & strangers passing by would come out to see the old engine belted up to the seperator doing it's thing. Every time a load was pitched into the seperator the old engine would bark & belch black smoke!
