I went for a walk at Swallows Park and then afterwards sat and dangled my feet in the water off the dock while I read through some Scripture verses I keep in a little book just for occasions when I need encouragement. The verse below seemed to jump off the page at me. Two key thoughts that are very near to my heart right now are addressed here.

But our citizenship is in Heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.
Philippians 3:20-21

1. "everything under His control"   Sometimes my life seems to be careening out of control in terms of the problems I have been dealing with physically.  I take great comfort in knowing that He is in control of it all. I don't know how it will work out, but I don't need to worry. I only need to rest in His Sovereignty.

2."will transform our lowly bodies"   I can take comfort in the fact that I only have to live in this messed up body for a temporary period of time. I can look forward to a new body that will be like His!

Now aren't these two great reasons to have hope????? I have an endless hope, not a hopeless end. How about you?

Psalm 90:2, 4, 12, 17
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea the work of our hands establish thou it.

Wow, God has no beginning and no ending....from everlasting to everlasting, He is God. He has always been there and always will be there for me.
Sometimes I think the day just drags on and on especially when I am having a lot of pain. Yet to God, the day I think is sooo looong is just a speck on the time line of life to Him. He sees the whole picture of my life and knows exactly what He is doing with me. His time table is just different than mine, that's all.
And so, we are supposed to count the days God gives us and use each one to please Him. Wow, that ought to do something for our attitudes and for the way we use the time He gives us.
If we really do use each day to please Him, then His beauty will begin to show in our lives and the work that we do will be successful.
