THE Rant
This is probably my most twisted, not to mention famous, piece to date. At PYPS, at school, wherever I go, people are careful not to mention any of the important words in this piece, for fear that I might begin to recite it -- you either love it or hate it. Dedicated to one of the first people to appreciate it. This one's for you, Rachel!
I really like "Swiss Family Robinson". It's a great movie. I don't know why, but I always think of submarines when I think of it, even though there aren't any submarines in it. It's kind of weird when you think about, when you think of one thing, and then think of something completely different. For example, Larry the Cucumber, from VeggieTales. He saw boats and planes and the numerical value of a mol, and all he thought of was lips! It's really strange when you think about it, when you hear one thing, but then in your head you heard something completely different. For example, on the way back up to camp, in the car my sister asked me, "do you like pie?" but I actually heard "I've never been to Glen Mhor." Then I had some weird conversation with myself, and she thought I was nuts. Nuts? Squirrels like nuts. Squirrels are crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a rubber room. Rubber rooms have rats. Rats? I hate rats. Rats drive me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once... oh, I'm sorry, there I go again. Where was I? ...oh, right, and word associations can go in loops too! Can you imagine what would happen if you got stuck in a word loop and couldn't get out? It'd be kind of like quicksand, but not really. It would be more like a whirlpool. At first it would be fun, but eventually the repetition would be painful! I guess it's more like mud than anything. I remember making mud pies when I was a kid. Speaking of pies, my sister once asked me, "do you like pie?" but I actually heard "I've never been to Glen Mhor." Then I had some weird conversation with myself, and she thought I was nuts. Nuts? Squirrels like nuts. Squirrels are crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a rubber room. Rubber rooms have rats. Rats? I hate rats. Rats drive me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once...
