Japanese tractor manufacturer Iseki chose Australia for the overseas launch of its SX series. (This article is sourced from POWER FARMING MAGAZINE - APRIL. 1985, it is not intended for commercial purposes.) Unveiled before an audience of Iseki Dealers from throughout Australia in Melbourne last month, the three new large models are the Iseki SX 65. Iseki SX 75 and Iseki SX 95. In launching the new range, the general manager of Maber Iseki Pty. Ltd. Mr. Joe Stafrace said that the three new SX models would complement the Iseki T series range of tractors. "They will give Iseki a prominent position in the larger horsepower end of the Australian tractor market in the up to 75kw or 100 hp class". Each of the model designations roughly corresponds with its engine horsepower. Both the SX 65 and SX 75 models are powered by Isuzu four cylinder diesel engines to produce engine horsepower of 60 hp and 70 hp respectively. The SX 95 is powered by an Isuzu. 6 cylinder diesel of 95 hp. Commenting on the release. Mr. Stafrace said that the new models in many ways reflect recent developments in the International automotive industry. "Whereas the Japanese industry has led the way in offering vehicles which are fully optioned to a high degree of technology, sophistication and comfort, Iseki & Co. Ltd., have developed their tractor range in a parallel way. "It used to be a matter of buying the basic tractor and then adding on everything from wheel weights and linkages to choosing a cab which offered only basic operator comfort and protection. "Now Iseki offers a tractor which is complete from a sophisticated cab with the latest ergonomic design for operator comfort during long operating hours to double hydraulic remote valves as standard. "I don't believe there is anything more that a farmer or industrial operator could ask from a tractor Mr. Stafrace commented. Mechanical advances predominate in the new Iseki SX range. The Isuzu diesel engine range features a new piston design which adds engine power and lowers engine noise levels. Two-stage air cleaners aid engine protection. All SX models have a heavy duty 33 cm (13 inch) dry plate clutch. A 12 forward, four reverse speed full synchromesh. shaft lever select transmission allows continuous speed selection during operation. The Super Shift facility is standard on the SX 95 and an option on the SX 75 giving an effective 24 forward, 8 reverse speed operation. An independent pto with a wet-type, multiplate wear resistant clutch is offered with 540 and 1000 rpm standard speeds. Choice of four wheel or two wheel drive is available with each of the new models. The Iseki SX range specifications PDF file
