I have been fishing Broadlands for over 15 years,
and have gained much of my experience carp fishing there!
I used to be in the day syndicate and was there to
witness the 1st use of pva bags for carp fishing.
Broadlands is a great place to learn about carp and
fishing for them, because the lake has many features, above and
below the water , reed beds, lilly pads, aslands , gravel bars etc.
If you get the chance to fish Broadlands here are some tips to help
  you with !
Never neglect the margins, as the carp patrol them
quite alot, if your fishing against the islands, make sure you are very
  tight to them.
Take a marker float and a heavy lead with you and find the bottom
features, like gravel bars and silt beds !  The main bars are in the
Inlet bay , black water corner ( infront of the house ) and on the
motorway bank of the big island.
Be prepared to move, as the carp will follow a new wind almost
  straight away!
Last but not least, try the pva bag and pellet method ! it still
produces fish very well.     Good luck !
