Like most anglers i started off tiddler bashing, but it didn't take me long to realise that a small fish on the end of my rod, wasn't giving me any kind of challenge.
The first time i hooked and landed a carp, although only a fish of about 6lb, it gave me a different kind of buzz, and i couldn't wait until i landed my next carp!
I still carried on fishing, using the same tactics as before, and it took some time for me to land my next carp. that was at the age of sixteen! From that day until tht present, carp hecome my main quarry.
I started reading carp books and checking through magazines, to find out where and how to catch these awesome fish .
After reading and trying out some of these tactics, it didn't take long for me to catch my first doulbe figure carp! a fish of 14lb from a gravel pit in Chichester.
It took another 6 years for me to catch my first twenty pound carp, which was caught from a private lake in Bromley.
From then on i knew what i would be doing for the rest of my life, i was now a specimen hunter and a dedicated carp angler.

My english pb stands at 27lb and is a fish that i have caugh ton two seperate occasions, the first time weighing 25.04.
so where am i now
I am now a member of a private syndicate lake in surrey, which ive been a member of since
Oct 2002, so ive now done my 1st year on the lake ! so far ive caught over 60 twenties with 5 of them being over 25lb ! and my pb for the lake at the moment stands at 26lb.
Im still learning about the lake every time i go, and next year i hope to improve and hopefully catch one of the biggies that hide beneath the surface.
